LST or topping

New to growing, should I LST or ‘topping’ so plants don’t keep growing like Christmas trees in order to produce more colas? Thanks for suggestions/help

LST, I never top. But that is a personal choice

What's the strain Carol are they photos or autos? Are you putting them outdoors?

I've been topping but am reconsidering. Topping may give more colas but, in my case, it adds at least three weeks to the overall growth time.

Exactly my thinking Gingerbread. I get the same results by just LST, and I won't lose all that time.

I leave the next lower set of branches/bud sites alone after I top. This gives me four main colas, as topping a second time would.

Strain dependent. Some take 3weeks to recover...others 3 days.

When plants are that small...I just top them. I don’t have much luck LST small plants for some reason. I bend the main stem, it twists...but no lower branches are effected. I end up topping anyway because the main stem is now an “S” shape with no improvement on number of bud sites.
when the plants are larger...I LST and it works extremely well on those bigger girls.
