Lower temps during flowering??

I'm confused about the issue of temps, specifically that I'm growing autos along with photoperiods( they're staying in veg while in the 18/6 room) But if I keep the room cooler when my autos are in flower, like 75f, is that too cool for my photos that are in the veg stage?

Ya, 75 is great for plants in vedge. A good rule of thumb, is that conditions that are comfortable for you, are also good for cannabis plants, they like about the same temperatures as humans.

Excellent news. And this leads me to my next question or problem I should say. I'm going to be harvesting my first harvest of my autos (6 plants) on Sunday. And I thought I was going to be able to hang them in the dormer window space that I have these plants growing in, but it's kind of warm in there and over 80 degrees sometimes in that area. Can I hang these in temps close to or over 80 degrees? Not sure what to do this first grow that I'm going to harvest on Sunday.

I've never had "optimal" conditions. 😆 😆 as long as it's close I'm happy 😊 😊.

And those temps is the problem trying to dry them up there. The only room I have downstairs that I could possibly do it in his my bedroom hanging them down here in my bedroom which isn't what I want to do but I may have to because I can control the temperatures down here much better. And many times the grow room up there that I have both sets of plants got up to 80 or a little bit over throughout this past summer. I just can't control it that much I have an air conditioner in the other room with the door open and a fan cool and cool air from that other room into the grow room. And when I'm gone even though that air conditioning thermostat on it, as the temps cool or heat up outside that changes things in the rooms up there. I guess I'm going to have flavorless bud or something

Do you have a spare bathroom you can keep dark? You can hang from the shower rod and can probably keep temps/rh close. With a small fan blowing against the wall if it's too hot. I've had temps around 75f and 43% humidity and have had great flavorful buds 😉. Once you get up to 80 terpenes will begin to burn off. Hope you figure something out.

Walk in closet? This is why I run seperate rooms for veg and flowering. I can use one room to dry without worrying about my other plants. You can use a box like Californiakid did with cardboard in the cooler part of the house. Good luck

Walk-in closet? That is hilarious! This house was built by someone who didn't know how to build houses, and there was only two tiny closets. I had one made downstairs and it's a narrow hallway closet full of clothes and Orchid supplies. So now I'm considering my basement. I have a humidity temperature monitor down there now. To see what the temp in humidity is. At this very moment it is 72 degrees in the basement and 59% humidity. I do have a dehumidifier that I can run to lower the humidity, but if this place hangs around 70 to 74, if I put a small fan to move the air in the room that would work wouldn't it?

Yes that should do. You can put them on a drying rack at that humidity and probably be just fine. But if you can bring it down that would be ideal. Temp should be fine if it's consistent 😉.

Okay then. I'll keep an eye on it between now and Sunday and hopefully I will finally have a place to dry them. I did purchase a drying rack because I wasn't sure if I should hang them or dry on a rack. So I'm prepared to do it either way. Thank you so much for your advice and guidance.

You're welcome. Did you get hygrometers for your jars yet? Once they go into jars I'm sure you'll have more questions 😉. I have read the harvest guide over 100 times so keep referring back to it and it will answer a lot. 🍻

Yes. I ordered them last night and they will be here by Saturday. I'm also getting that other thing that the tutorial suggest I can't think of what they're called but they go and each jar and keep the humidity in the jar at 62%. Going to get some champagne for Sunday! The first harvest of hopefully many!

I flip the hygrometer so that the display is facing the bottom of the jar. Then the weed goes on top. This way I just check the undersides of the jar for RH readings and don’t have to open my jar every check.

Boveda Humidy packs.
That's a good idea Toker!
Basement sounds WAY better! You can hang and cure at those high temps, but it cooks off both Terpenes and THC. If your humidity ends up higher than optimal, cut off more leaves and stem, so the weed drys a little faster, when the humidity is low, leave more stem, and even a couple fan leaves to slow things down. Hanging results in nicer looking buds, and is preferable, at least in my opinion.

GreenhouseEffect, I was planning on trimming before I hang them.@shotgun, I'm going to check out that idea of putting them in brown paper bags. I'd like to know the science behind it. What was your experience with the brown paper bags? So you dried and cured at the same time?
