Low Humidity problems

Alright so I've added a humidifier to my grow tent but I still can't get RH up. It was between 25-30% before I added the humidifier, since adding its on gone up to 31%. Not exactly where I want to be. Any suggestions?

Something is wrong if it's only going up by 1-5%. What is the RH outside the tent in the middle of the room? How big is the unit? How big is the tent? Is the humidifier inside the tent? Is there an exhaust fan in the tent? Where in the tent are you checking the RH? Is there much steam coming out of the humidifier? The tent is obviously in a dry room, are there things in the room causing the air to dry out that can be moved or eliminated?
I fought low humidity issues for a little while and I'm sure plenty of others here have as well, I think we can get you straightened out.

The humidifier is inside the tent and is meant for a small room and its working, it's cranking out vapor. Yes I do have an exhaust fan. The tent is in my basement where it's very dry in the winter and it's also reading 31%, same as inside the tent. I have a 4x4x6.5 tent and I'm checking RH from on top of my reservoir, that where I have the probe placed. The probe reads temp and rh and I figured it should be close to the plants. The room is only set to 64°F and I have baseboard heat so it shouldn't be drying out the air. Im thinking I need a humidifier for the room as well that way the air it's pulling in already has vapor in it. I do have a small space heater inside the tent that runs for 15mins every hour not sure how much that would effect rh.

Sounds like a somewhat similar situation to what I had to deal with and the solution ended up being simple and easy for me at the time because I didn't have flowering plants and the room my tent is in is small. I ran the humidifier right outside the open front door of the tent with an oscillating fan behind it blowing toward the plants. I had to run it like that about 20 hours a day for a few days and brought the RH of the whole room up basically. I only set the humidifier on a timer at night to go on/off every 30 minutes while I slept because I couldn't put enough water in it to steam all night. I had the tent wide open so I didn't need the exhaust fan at all.

You can also give the plants a nice dose of humidity by shutting the exhaust fan off and sealing up the tent all but enough to let your humidifier pump into the front door for a little while. Once you get a decent RH stabilized in the whole room and give it a blast like that, you can leave the fan off, pull the humidifier and totally seal up the tent for an hour. The walls will be wet when you open it up. Not recommended for flowering plants!

I don't know if something has changed here atmospherically but I haven't had to use the thing at all since my war with RH back in Fall '19. It's funny that once I figured it out and conquered it over the course of a few days, I haven't had to deal with it at all, my RH is usually between 42-48% and I can adjust it easily by opening the window to outside air for a bit. It hasn't gone down below ~ 38% in weeks. I actually just finally moved the humidifier/spatter tray out from in front of the tent yesterday because it's been so long since I've plugged it in.

Yeah the exhaust fan is pumping it out into the room outside as fast as it is being produced, you might have to raise the RH of the whole room like I did.

Cool I'll see what I can do for now, but I ultimately I'm just going to have to get a large room humidifier for my basement. I really appreciate your advice 👍

FunkyButtLovin Ha. Welp I think I found my issue.... Operator error. The temperature and humidity monitor I have measures indoor and outdoor temperature but only indoor humidity. I assumed the probe was reading both but really it's only a temperature probe, the unit itself that reads humidity and temp. I just moved the unit to get inside of the tent, let's see what happens.

As Homer Simpson would say "D'oh!"
