Looking Good - Water for runoff vs. humidity control thing

Hey There,

BB is happily coming along in what looks to be WK 3-4 Flower. Watering is at 2.5 liters into her 11 l grow bag while positioned on a low rack with a tray underneath to catch the run-off, which is usually around 400 ml (pH 6.8). After a thorough drip, drip, drip, the grow bag is placed back on its usual tray to sit on a light layer of clay balls.

I’d like to continue this approach to be sure to keep clear of any salt buildup, but its tough on humidity control in the tiny tent. There’s a dehumidifier inside the tent, but the accompanying heat overnight & during the day doesn’t really help at this stage. I’m also paying close attention to brisk air circulation, keeping the branches/buds as separated as possible and removing any blocking leaves.

Can I get away with only watering for runoff every other water or so? Does calcium (in the form of a cal/mag) help dissipate the salts at all? Any suggestions on avoiding overhead watering?

SetUp: Banana Blaze feminized strain, not an auto. Tiny tent 60x60x120 - Plenty of cross ventilation/ fresh air circulation - PrimaKlima carbon filter - Spider Farmer 100w lights now at 95% - 32 cm distance to plant - Both internal temperature & humidity are regulated with a Tapo sensor/trigger setup - Advanced Nutrients. Devised external boxes with vent ducting leading out of them and attached them to the Intake Vent (R) & the Output Vent (L) to be sure that no light was seeping in & also positioned the right intake duct just above an external dehumidifier.

No need to runoff every watering. I grow in coco and only give runoff about twice a week and will have watered between 20 and 30 times in that week, each pot.

I don't use fabric pots, I use black plastics. Runoff doesn't add much to the RH in the room. The plants transpiration adds almost all humidity to the room, fabric pots will add to it over plastics.

Thanks Bluey! I remove the runoff/watering tray from the tent after watering, but, yep, its the overhead watering (over a layer of clay balls) & full saturation of the fabric pot required to get the runoff that is adding to the humidity.
