LOOK Please is this Underwater Pump for Top Feed DWC overkill??

I once considered the same pump. I came to the conclusion that salt build up would destroy the unit in short order. I find the air stones all 4 of them mix everything up nice!.Air stones are cheep to replace too!
 
How would you connect those to top feed? I believe those are designed to create current in your container, but does not pump into a tube for top feed, and also it doesn't aerate.

If it's aerated circulation you are after, I have something like this from Walmart: https://www.amazon.com/Marineland-P...UTF8&qid=1514939689&sr=1-9&keywords=powerhead

It aerates the water as it swirls it around in the bucket, but doesn't pump into the grow cup. At 150gpm, it generates a strong current in a 7gal tote full of water that I would worry would cause the roots to tangle into a big knot. 2 of those putting out 800gph each really sounds like a torrent.

Or am I not understanding your application?
