What are your thoughts versus recreational and medical marijuana, people in the masses growing their own cannabis?

I live in one of the previous legal states. So with some perspective I can say that the recreational / medical camps are not as distinct as opponents of cannabis would like them to be. Most older users like myself, use cannabis in or for both venues. Those against cannabis sometimes make exception for limited medical use, but are adamantly opposed to legalizing recreational use. My advice, if you are in Mass is enjoy your new found freedom but be an example of responsible use. Good luck growing and have fun! Nicely said...I've been a grower for a while for my own Medical use. I'm in support of recreational use but I feel kinda on the fence between the whole thing, maybe I'm being a little selfish but I felt a little privileged to have the freedom now that everyone in California has. I feel Maybe the whole recreational industry will downgrade cannabis quality and I could see some of the medical dispensaries taking a hit.

I'm surprised this is even a question...of course anyone should have the right to grow cannabis...for whatever reason.

I may be a rec user but I do recognize and appreciate the medical benifits it gives me...weed is for the masses...

I absolutely agree with you!! Cannabis should be for everyone. But just like Canyon grower said above if people set an example and are responsible then there should be no problem, but I don't have much faith that this will happen. I fear people will not set the example and the federal government won't drop cannabis from a schedule 1 drug. It's just a sticky topic to me on one hand I'm absolutely in support but I other hand I want to protect the reputation of medical cannabis

I'm not feeling the government has enough sense to be the ones who dictate who or who doesn't get to enjoy the many benefits (both medical and recreational) of cannabis. I'm in Mass, but never felt the laws were just, so just took the growing thing into my own hands. Sometimes reason and science get the backseat by legislators. 🌱

Canna-Me, I completely get what you are saying. Medical marijuana must be protected!! There will always be reckless pot users, just like there are reckless drinklers......but drinking is legal. Driving drunk is not legal. Same thing goes for pot. It should be recreational so all can enjoy....with that comes responsibility.

I resent the arrogance of the few who attempt to control the many. I also resent those who outlaw something just to directly tax it.

My vote was yes for recreational and medical use. I hope more people like doctors, lawyers and so called successful people openly amit two smoking. And we could get away from the stigma of cannabis being part of a drug culture.
