Lighting Schedule

I was following a post here about adjusting the 12/12 to get the plant to fatten up. So, I've been reading about lighting on GWE. And the google machine dredged this up. Has anyone seen this article? Tried this light schedule? I don't know enough about plants to ascertain whether the author is on to something here or is full of you know what. It appears this piece was written in 2017 and updated in May of this year.

No, hadn't seen it but just read it...seems most of his views are revolving around commercial grows(large) He states using 6/2 method MAY be a good idea..doesnt really say why. And he says over 18 hrs of bright light is detrimental to plants....Horse pucks! Since when does the sun shut down every 6 hrs to give plants a break? In veg my lights are on 24/7 until i switch to flower. He mentioned something else about watering each plant 4 gallons a day!? Good luck with that....

You're right of course about the sun and the water as well IMHO. But if you think about it some plants don't do well in direct sun, some need varying degrees of sunshine, maybe he's referring to the intensity of the lights that seem typical in a grow tent to equate to intense direct sunlight. But I don't see how that affects a cannabis plant. I haven't seen a marijuana plant yet that doesn't like light and lots of it. At any rate not sure how that light schedule would work in a grow tent but it sounds interesting.
