Light cycles to finish

I've heard you can change your 12/12 cycle to 10/14 and then to 8/16 to speed up the finishing, and they plump up and get more sticky- anyone try this?

Hey AW. ( love the handle )
I work the lights down and feel there is Merit in it. But from my study into it you do not drop your lighting below 10/14. After that you can deprive them, and slow down.

The last couple of weeks is when your buds really swell up ,I like my buds big, and I sure ain't gonna cut the light back. Especially after all the time an effort of trying to grow nice healthy plants. I might turn out the light about 2or3 days before harvesting and keep em in the dark to try to increase resin production but I ain't sure that's proven, but it seems to me it does help a good bit.

I agree with Mr. Furley and Daas69 that you should keep giving them enough light. Maybe drop light time to 11 or 10, but 8 seems too low. You would be decreasing time under the light by 50% at a critical time for growth. A side by side comparison would be one way to test but you'd need too identical setups to do that.
