It's hard for me to accept that 2 marijuana plants are better than 4 :)
Just finished my 2nd hydro grow. I have a 3x3x6 tent and a 400w mh/hps.
My first grow I only had 2 plants and got 9.5 Oz dry, so I thought for my 2nd grow I'd have 4 plants and get a pound!!! What's not to love about that :)
I know strain plays a big role in harvest but that fact aside, this time with 4 plants on only got 10.5 Oz , even though I kept them trimmed it was obvious when I cut them that the bottom half of each was light starved, and I even kept a 100w cfl under them.
Ok, so I learned a painful lesson, painful because for almost 4 months I was thinking I had a pound of bud to look forward to, a pound would have lasted a year before I had to grow again.
For my 3rd grow I'm going back to two plants and I will spend a little more time veggin them and LST, rather than just topping them.

Man what a great story haha sorry u got disappointed. But that's actually a pretty good lesson. When people say light=yield they're not kidding 😐

Thanks for sharing. I am growing in about the same amount of space (54 cubic foot) and I am only doing 2 plants with a 600W light so I am hoping to get a decent yield. After reading what you posted, I am glad I went with only a couple of plants this grow. This is my first grow for this system so I wanted to start small. Plus, in that amount of space, I feel like more than 2 would become cluttered and be too much to manage. I am certainly far from being an expert, but just talking size per plant, in that amount of space with 2 plants, each only has a maximum of 27 cu.ft. to grow. So growing four would cut that space down to 13.5 cu.ft. per plant which I would imagine only hurts the yields of each plant. Either way, I am rambling now but thanks for sharing! Best of luck with your 3rd grow!!

Hello Joker that's wild ain't it ,like you said strains got alot to do with it 2. Love that AllmanBros. avatar , my favorite Band of all time. The original Band couldn't be beat that's how good they were Live. Fillmore East live is still one of my daily listeners. Later .

What's up Joker. I also have a 400w HPS personally about three plants at least that's what I've been able to figure out is all that 400 watt can actually make produce decent amount. Underneath my 315 LEC I've got five Auto Super Lemon Haze growing wildly out of control had to supercrop two of them to keep them out of a light almost 5 ft tall. I think the reflector has a lot to do with it also on how it actually focuses the light downward. Of course bulb quality I paid extra for a enhanced HPS WTF that is. Hey 9.5 off of two plants that's not shabby I'd take it any day my friend.

Have you watched Gregg Allmans "All my friends" tribute concert? If not you should, it's awesome

Hey Joker Yeah I have seen it , it's good to. Before ABB got big they like the house band at a place called the Warehouse in NOLA an played every week end for months, didn't miss any , Duane an Dicky were unreal on guitars. Sure hated to hear about Greggs passing a month or so ago. Later Joker

Joker If it makes you feel any better: I got the very expensive Ace purple haze x malawi 6 seeds for I can't remember how much, but $16+ per seed, I germinated 5 and put 4 in my grow box (gave one away). Well into this long flower phase, I removed 3 of the 4 because I realized that one would produce more and better bud if it could fill the entire box. I felt so stupid...

i have been telling a friend for years that less is more. he kept trying to put many plants in a small area and wondered why not a big harvest. he did just two as opposed to 4-6 and got dumbfounded that he got more at harvest.
