You are a fortunate individual. What NM city with nearby golf course(s) would be a good retirement community? I'll be dead before Texas enters the 21st century.
 
I'm not able to golf anymore 😪 but there's a course in just about every town with a Walmart lol mountain town Ruidoso or Silver City NM desert town Deming Alamogordo or Las Cruces if you want to fish Elephant Butte and bigger cities El past n Albuquerque these are mostly southern NM but the north part of NM has alot of pretty little towns from desert to mountain as well but I've only been hunting fishing n camping up there so don't know the areas with golf
 
Appreciate it MeEasy. A friend mentioned Ruidoso as well. She said it's a short golf season, but Casinos and slopes the rest of the year to keep occupied. I can escape the Texas heat, traffic, and blue laws for a place I can golf, gamble and LEGALLY grow my own. I don't see the downside. Going to fly out later this month and do a little reconnaissance.

Ruidoso is nice all year and you can golf two or three courses from prolly May to October might need a good sweater for part of it and Alamogordo is just an hour away at the bottom of the hill and it's desert where I believe they're open all year lol I think the course is called desert sun it's been around 8 years since I played over there
