HYDRO Leaf problems

I’m not super experienced with deficiency or over saturation of certain nutrients. Please help me figure out what this leaf degradation means.

Using
botanicare pure blend pro grow (5ml/gal)
cal mag (5ml/gal)
pro-tekt silicon solution (2ml/gal)
hydrogaurd (1/3 strength)

Im doing a reservoir change and will be bringing the base nutrients up to 10ml/gal. The cal mag started at half strength but was increased to full when we started seeing calcium deficiency. Which has all since passed and healed except for this plant which is JUST NOW showing deficiency signals.

keep in mind all plants are on the same flood table so they’re all fed the exact same solution at the same intervals. I’m confused as to why just this plant in struggling. :/

Hi IslandColas ,

interesting one. had a good look at the pic, and based on plant doctor guide i thought of 3:
https://www.growweedeasy.com/magnesium-deficiency-cannabis
similar pattern of brightening/discoloring between veins for the two leaves in top left quadrant of picture?

(not sure why this may happen as you're adding CalMag to the water, maybe as you said it wasnt at the needed strength)

2 - https://www.growweedeasy.com/phosphorus-deficiency-cannabis
leaf stems look kinda reddish in color, i could be wrong.

3 - https://www.growweedeasy.com/ph-fluctuations-cannabis
the far leaf middle right side looks like the spots from the pH fluctuations.

hows the pH of the water?

So yeah we know it’s not a calcium or magnesium deficiency and I’m looking into phosphorus because I was already kinda leaning towards it. The ph is perfect, holds steady at 5.8. Natural fluctuations occur but I never let it above 6.3.

I’m doing the reservoir tonight and increasing base nutrients. We’ll see if that helps as I research a good phosphorus supplement.

You could look at adding some botanicare pure blend pro bloom to the grow?
has the extra phosphorus

Bloom: Nitrogen 2.0%, Phosphate 3.0%, Potash 5.0%, Ca 1.0%, Mg 0.5%

"creative thought" : is the feeder tube to that plant getting slightly blocker? reduced waterflow.. ?

on my system the waterpump feeds all 4 buckets, but 2 feeder tubes have slightly higher waterflow than the other two.

extra thought: https://www.botanicare.com/products/pure-blend-pro/?modal=true&sl=false

Grow: Nitrogen 3.0%, Phosphate 2.0%, Potash 4.0%, Ca 1.0% , Mg 0.5%

this seems to already have the extra CalMag in it... I don't know - can you go excessive (up to double or more recommended dosage) on CalMag in DWC without such leaf symptoms?

Most base nutrients will have a calcium and Mg supplement inside because they’re theoretically made to be complete feed regimens. I only began using cal mag when I noticed the deficiency months ago when I began the grow.

I’m increasing my base nutrient ratio and that should help the phosphorus deficiency. I’m going to stick with botanicares suggestions and not use bloom formula until we’re ready to make the flip just because it’s a different ratio of NPK then I desire for my veg plants.

the system is ebb and Flow. There is no top feed/feeder tube.

Due to the type of system I cannot check roots at will. I did just transplant 5 or so days ago and they’re all super healthy bright white.

IslandColas Hi, was wondering how your plants doing with the spots on the leaves?

recovering?

Fully recovered and into further training!:) what happened was I lowered my nutrients too quickly and because it was the last plant to be topped it was weakest to handle the change. They’re now almost completely manifolded and starting their bush time. I appreciate the thought! Keep an eye on these seedlings in my grow Journal:) here’s some photos of the group and then that one problem plant.
