Leaf Humus. Ok to use in soil?

Not sure why it didn't click till now but my city composts leaf Humus. I've always used it in my flower and garden beds. The Internet says it's good to mix in but does anyone have any experience mixing it in the soils for these girls ? Mix in or topdress only? I use living soil so I'm thinking it's already in there at some point but I ask.

I can make a slurry and check the pH if you kids say do it. But like do it like I know it's good, not just to do it do it. Help me choose the way GWE!
 
I use it all the time. I use a large trash can to keep the leaves in and add it to my vermicomposting bin periodically.
 
leaves get thrown in my compost pile all the time. i'm growing in that crap now and the girls are doing great with no added nutes
 
Leaves and mulched branches and trunks (woodchips) are great for adding to your compost heap. I recommend adding manure and blood and bone (animal bits), they compliment each other and will break down faster and produce a better compost. Add a bit of lime too and some ash from your wood fire and keep moist....and seal tight and open to moisten and turn once a week. You'll have incredible compost in no time.

Edit. I forgot-And kitchen scraps..all your veggy stuff. Don't over do fats and oils, they will try to bind.
