KingKush grow #2 - 3000w Bruce Banner in soil

Hello all,
Welcome to my grow journal. My goal here is quick and clean so if we can keep posts without content to a minimum, that would help readability. I will do weekly updates so check back often and enjoy the ride.

ENVIRONMENT: Detatched garage, stick built rooms. Concrete slab. No insulation, open rafters, high humidity. Temperate coastal marine environment.

BLOOM: 10ft x 9ft with 9.5ft ceilings. X2 1000w HPSGenesis bulbs ran by x2 Galaxy Grow Amps. Set on 1000w I don't adjust. Vertically run bulbs under 48" round parabolic reflectors. 240v power controlled by a Titan Helios 240v/40amp dual trigger controller.

VEG: 7ft x 7ft with a 7ft ceiling. 1000w MH Ultra Sun 10k bulb ran off a traditional magnetic ballast. 240v ran into the Titan controller also.

MEDIUM: Bagged soil (ocean forest) mixed with a little Elemental-
by Roots Organics. It's a powdered cal-mag supplement that is lableled for amendment into soil. 5-gallon buckets with holes drilled (DIY AIR POTS).

METHODS: Low Stress Training, Cloning (so I sacrifice parts of the plant off simply for this reason), Topping, Defoliation

BONUS: Unfortunately I don't have much other than a fan and a space heater. Bare Bones for now. Would like a sealed room with a wall mounted A/C unit for the Bloom room #futurePlans

STRAIN: Bruce Banner (bag seed from last Bruce Banner crop. 99% sure it's backcrossed with itself)
"OG Kush" (bag seed from an OG Kush nugget. Surprised me because this strain never gets seeds)

Jan 3rd
Germination: I dropped a few seeds in a cup of water. After 2 days they sprouted the root. Immediately they were placed in a cup of moist soil and put in the veg room. Here is the first glimpse.

Transplanted the OG Kush. There is one.
Bruce Banner are all doing well, in risk of root bound issues arising soon.

Jan 16th

All are transplanted into final containers. Lots of healthy roots. Minimally root bound but still coiled around bottom. Just plain H2O for a while now.

Moving Day

*Efficiency concerns are arising. Up another 1000w today to turn on one bloom light (2000w total right now)
Perhaps another plant or two in each stage. Two thousand watts for seven plants would require larger plants. It's basically a three room perpetual grow with only 2 rooms. With the inordinate amount of wattage to pay for, mistakes in timing, rotation, and plant count are costly. In order to justify the lights, a larger canopy is needed according to these pictures.

I can see how a longer VEG right now would make things more efficient in a perfect world. However, if I don't start something into flowering the first week of February I will surely run out of nugget in 8 more weeks. Decisions based upon needs, not wants.

Veg room is: x3 Bruce Banner and x1 OG Kush (this journal)
Bloom room is: x2 Kingpin Kush and x1 Trainwreck

The two Bruce Banners that were NOT manifolded (just topped and not lollipoped) are slightly ahead in terms of height, but I think the total leaf area is similar. The manifolded plants have rebounded extremely well.

-Still unsure if manifolding will produce anything advantageous
-Thrips are bugging me
-Need to grow clones faster
- Loving the amended soil, no nutes needed yet
-Tiny bit of leaf tip curl, hot soil

You have such a big environment is the manifold just expiremental? I would think the size of your space would have more advantages. Bet you'll still get some killer fat colas though. That's one if my fav strains. Looks like a great manifold.

Sprayed sulfur today (Lilly Miller Sulfur Dust mixed with some water)
- controls White Powdery Mildew (WPM)
- also, good control of Thrips

Well it's been 7 weeks completed about 50days from germination. I wish I did NOT manifold I could have an entire field of budsites, ready for the flip, just like the schedule says.... instead I'm stuck with 2 runts that are just making me more and more sad every week.
Oh and to rub salt on the wound, my cat decided to rub the manifold and snap off one of the ends with like 3 nodes with of growth, thanks cat you eliminated 2/5ths of my plant! Geeze!!!

Why did I manifold?
- because I can? It looks pretty and I just wanted to grow some huge chunky monsters of plants I guess.... the best thought I had was "I will get just as much nugget, and perhaps MORE of quality nugs, less larf"
- things are looking dim, these two manifolded girls better perform in the second half is all I'm saying!
