Its so cold !

Last 2 days been hitting 60s yesterday made it 70, this morning it's 58 but this evening it's going to snow between 6 and 11 pm.
 
its raining right now but before it started to rain it was a sheet of ice chickens had a hard time with so they went back inside lol they might be able to walk around now
 
You should have had some little ice skates for em. Our chickens don't like to come out in inclimate weather especially if it's windy. How many chickens do you have? we've got nine.

I've seen my Mother ,plenty of times come from the chicken coop, with 2 big hens in each hand, and in about 1minute ,they would be flopping on the ground with no heads, 20minutes later, fried yard bird.
 
For a number of years I would winter in AZ. I remember the winter of 97 there were snow flurries in Phoenix. Saw Amistad in Scottsdale. Like that little town south of Tucson. Sonoita I believe. A bucolic little Abbey there Santa Rita. AZ is a great locale for astronomy.
 
My wife would be horrified at your comment. Reminiscent of my Bavarian grandmother taking the head off of a chicken with a hatchet when I was about four years old. Of course the chicken running around the yard with no head and blood spurting. Scary stuff to a 4 year old unfamiliar with the concept of death. I would rather someone else do this dirty work out of my view.
 
Yeah, that was funny, Momma just wrung their necks, 2 at a time, then the flopping, started when they hit the ground. Chicken blood wasnt nothin, VietNam blood was real an scary.
