Is this normal?

" i trim fan leaves and sugar leaves. Do i need to trim the tight sugar leaves right to their stem or can i manicure them to the bud if they have sugar?"

Yes, you can do what you like. I approach it as cut branch into the size I want to hang keeping a "hook" for each branch to hang by if possible. Then I cut the fan leaves unless there is frost on them then they go to the sugar leaf trim. This makes it easier to see what you are doing. As far as the sugar leaves, if they are frosty I will save them for extraction. If not frosty I toss them also. How short you want to make them is up to you. I leave more sugar leaf on the bud than most people because all mine goes to DFV. Smokers may want a shorter trim. Trimming is like a hair cut, everyone has a style they prefer.

Personally, fan leaves I try get the trimmers in as close to the main stem to take out as much of the leaf stem as I can, sugar leaves manicure to the buds, as they dry the sugar leaves will shrivel back into the buds... With the fan leaves, if you can't get right in there to cut them out, just cut off flush with bud and once the buds dry the leaf stems pull out pretty easy. That's how I do it anyway.
If you don't already, keep the trimmings to use in extraction or cooking if you're interested in that.

UPDATE: Big Mama is trimmed and in jars . 8 jars total!!!! She gave me fluffy buds that are coated in soo much sugar i had to check to make sure it wasn’t mold lol. Tried a bud last night and yowza shes a heady uplifting high🥰 stay tuned for bud porn this weekend, now i get to rest a little while Joker the fem is growing. Hope the “Grow Boys” have a great weekend 🫶🏼

I used to stress over fluffy airy buds. But you know what? It doesn't really matter. Its the smoke that counts. Once I realized that after the buds come out of the grinder no one would know if it was airy or tight except me. Enjoy Big Hairy Mama. 70's rock and roll is the best, IMHO.

AMP, amiga. Are you keeping dope in a zip-lock? That's just trim, right? Tell me that's just the trim.
Won't take much knocking around for all that hairyness to go away. There is a process called 'bud polishing' where buds are rubbed together to make those smoothe nugs non-growers seem to think are the best.

Absolutely agree with you on that golf ! And yes 70’s rock is the best!!!! One of my favorites is “all right now” , even as a kid i loved it…it’s Been on my playlist forever, was singing along last year and realized it’s a song about picking up a hooker… crazy how we can sing a song and not know what we are even saying .. For decades 🤣

hey amp, happy sunday, i got 2 questions 4 ya if you dont mind. 1- how much weed do u think fits in 1 of those jars? 2- if i dont have those jars how should i store my buds? i'm askin cause i dont have anyway 2 weigh my harvest and i wanna know how much i got. and also theres no way i have more than 1 of those jars. thanx
 
Hey ductwizard…. It depends on how dense the buds are, semi dense buds in one of my big jars (75% full) was an oz , fluffy buds , (full jar) is an oz. Jars are the best way to cure and store, in my opinion. I don’t like storing ,after curing ,in ziplock bags cuz the trichomes stick to the plastic. I got a digital scale from amazon for under 15$ and the jars from Walmart. The jars come in two sizes and i got the larger. 🫶🏼 if i didn’t have then I’d use Tupperware , anything airtight , and store in the dark
 
thanks amp, i fig. about an ounce per jar and its just 4 my own curiosity so close enuff. i'm a cpl. weeks away from harvest so i'll start eating all the stuff in the house in jars. had 5 put away and the wife snatched them 4 canning peaches from r tree. but i cant yell cause shes makin me some peach shine. THANX

Hey guys. Question that i can’t find an answer to… im using 50/50 ocean floor soil and coco coir . Should i have be adding nutes to every watering after a couple months ( when soil nutes are depleted) for both auto abs fem plants. I was doing every other watering but because of the coco I’m wondering if they were left needing?
 
i'll tell u what, 1/2 a glass of her booze and yer eyes cross. i'm not even a big fan of peaches but i am a fan of seein double every once in a while
