SOIL Is this an early sign of bud rot?

I noticed this today. Is this an early sign of bud rot? If so what can I do.

I've been very careful to keep the buds dry all summer and the plant is indoors overnight with a small fan to circulate the air.

I'll harvest now if I have to.

Hi cosmo. I'm no expert with bud rot. What I do know is Humidity is one of the biggest factors, what's you humidity/ temperature been running? And if you have bud rot it is toxic, you don't what to smoke it.

I took no chances with it and blew a dime sized hole in it with a propane torch. I'll take my chances and harvest tomorrow, ready or not.

I would suggest you post that picture in the other forum and get a second opinion on if it is bud rot. It is a beautiful bud and looks to early to harvest. Would hate to see you give it up if it is not.
Humidity/temperature?
good luck and I hope this helps

I sure hope that you didn't chop her down. I looked at the pic and didn't see anything to be concerned with. My experience with rot is that the affected section of the flower wilts and then starts to turn to mush. My indoor grows are subject to whatever the weather brings-my RH can range from 25-85% I just make sure to keep good airflow in the room and try to make sure that I get good air exchange into the closet.

Cosmo, it's possible it could be starting, so I would suggest cutting out just the questionable section. I've been finding bud rot on quite a few of my outdoor plants this year...we've had unusually humid weather. I do protect them from rain and dew, but sometimes it's unavoidable, especially in the very dense buds. So I look inside the dense sections to spot it early, then cut out any signs of it, which still leaves me lots of bud for harvest. Good luck! 🐸

to look for bud rot you have to really get in there, bend the cola and inspect close to the stem, it will look rotten, like a banana out in the sun, brown shriveled, but it always grows at the center first where the humidity is higher
