Almost a year later, how's the market?
You mentioned at the beginning you were seeing a lot of California bud coming your way, and the prices were going up. I wouldn't buy Cali grown bud in the UK or anywhere that doesn't border the Pacific Ocean. How far does Cali grown travel to get to the UK? How does it pass through so many shipping inspections to get from the west coast of the US, then to the east coast, and on to the UK? How much bulk is needed to make a drug dealer size profit? How much is it going to cost to get weed from that far away?
In San Diego, off market bud is $5.00 a gram. Super chronic is $20/g. Take a look at San Diego dispensary prices. If you are paying $40 for an eighth, that's nigh on $11.00/g, which would give you mid-range Cali bud. I have to imagine it would get taxed to at least $30/g in the UK. There is new competition as our communities' are changing laws about having dispensaries. As soon as one opens up, dispensary prices in surrounding communities plunge. My $37/g live resin dropped to $29.00.
You might be getting east coast bud. Maybe even eastern US bud. Before California became legal and we started growing good shit, B.C. bud was the fruit in a golden chalice. All someone had to do to charge a higher tax was to say it was B.C. bud. Tacking 'Cali' to weed will make a cotton mouth drool.
You might also be getting weed grown from 'Cali' seeds, in 'Cali' conditions, but not Cali bud. There is enough of a European tolerance to weed that it would be cheaper to keep it European local.
Take a look at THC diamonds. A gram of 99.99% pure TCH. I can get that for $100 for a quarter ounce. I could bring you guys a kilo and make a million dollars!
If you order something online, you are 101% on your own.
