Inline fan

Hi guys, this is my first grow and post. I'm currently growing 5 plants in 5 gallon smart pots, have a 6 x 6x 7' grow tent, 600w hps light, and an online fan with carbon filter. Also an oscillating fan. My question is if I should be running the inline fan 24/7, only when light is on? I'm in week 2 of flowering. Also I'm using fox farm ocean forest and fox farm trio nutrients.

Shutting the fan off during lights off may cause your humidity to get too high. That's what happens for me. I have a similar configuration. You'd probably be fine in veg like that but mold issues in flower.

Id recommended keeping the inline and oscillating fans on 24/7.

The inline fine can control your whole grow.....You can control temp, RH, and with cooling lights its crazy......No longer do you need to worry about heat........Buy a LUX METER....The best way to measure your light distance with cooling fans is through Lumens.....Check out the GWE.....page on it....Good Growing....

How many oscillating fans do you have? If you only have one you might consider getting another one at least. One above and one below. (Keeps the mold away) Your plants look very healthy and good!

Thanks guys! I will definitely look into getting the meter and another oscillating fan. I had an issue with white powdery mold before I had the inline fan but since then have taken care of it thanks to GWE tips.

I tried turning my inline fan of in favor of the colder temps and my humidity spiked with the light off so it stays on 24/7!

Hey matie, first of all welcome to this jolly bunch of potheads!! May i ask, what hood do you have? If you have an Aircooled Hood you should not switch the fan off at all as the heat in the Hood would melt the cables even WITH protective wiresheets around it!!Happened to me 3 days ago and luckily i smelt the burning thing early without damaging my HPS!! If you don't have a hood and just have a reflector, get one fan oscillating for flow and one just blowing the heat away from your lamp straight towards your fan that sucks outwards! I have the fan on 24/7 regardless of stage, seeds, seedlings, veg or flower!!Humidity at night goes up to 66% now on the 12/12 and the dryfan does nothing for that to drop, just ventilates the branches and flowers(or flowers to be) enough so water doesn't form in/on the leaves/flower/pre-flowers!

That said i should take into account that the strain i am currently growing in my hydro is the Church and GHQ claims it to be the most mold resistant plant!!I say it will show in flowering...Good luck and happy growing matie!!
