Infrared/Night Vision Security Cameras (stupid question)

Serapium

New member
Hey all. I'm thinking of putting some security cameras inside my grow tents so I can monitor them visually when I'm not present. If I use camera with infrared night vision will the plants react to those and 'see' them as a light source? I don't want to inadvertently screw up my photoperiod.

Ive been wondering this myself because i have some security cameras i was wanting to put in my flower room for my photos.

Hmmmm... I was really hoping for a definitive yes or no. DrPhoton you have any idea? This would be an implementation in eight 10x10 grow tents and three 4x4 tents. There's a good amount at risk if I screw it up, but remote monitoring on the kind of quantities I'm looking at would be a great boon to my peace of mind.

It shouldnt do Serapium .

Far red and infrared light sources fall outside the range where phytochrome Pr is converted into PFr. Which is what is responsible for photoperiodism. Theres also the intensity aspect that Toker1 points out.
