Okay Old Farts, would love to hear stories about costs of being part of the counterculture back in the day. Mine go something like this...
- the first time I saw Jimi Hendrix tickets cost $3.50
- we used to make road trips to Gainesville, FL to get Columbia Gold for $180 a pound and that was outrageously expensive when you could buy/sell 1/4 pounds for $30!!!
- who remembers buying lids???

First Hendrix concert was 1968. Trips to FL was in college, early 70's. Spent 1972 New Years Eve in Amsterdam. Was the first time I bought pot in grams!!! 😉
 
Ok PuravidaC, you asked for it.
1. First time I got high on Lebanese Hashish and watched the Apollo moon landing.
2. A lid cost $10, gasoline was $0.37 a gallon, and I thought that I was in 'high cotton' earning $2.10 per hour.
3. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan for free (no cover charge at the bar), beer was $0.25 a draw and $1.50 a pitcher.
4. When I got the 'munchies', a 1/2 lb. burger, fries, and a drink were $1.15 (at the What-a-burger).

wow! Thats two weeks ahead of me!
 
Hehehe.......too funny. Well back in the 70's in BC Canada a 'lid' was $15, which was the same price for rock concert tickets. Gas was $.25 a gallon.

Three finger lids. $10.00, cigs. $.30, gas. $.22, Kilo street dirt weed, and I mean dirt weed $150.00 don't even compare it to anything you buy today. circa:1968

70 or early 70's, most of the weed was Colombian, and yes 3 finger lids, I remember arguing with a friend about gas, cause he was paying .32$ a gallon for Amoco, and everywhere else gas was .30$ a gallon. Also I remember friends of mine, about 1973 buying pounds of Mexican for 90.00 (all green leaves, stems, I can't really remember many if any buds) then they would throw it in a cooler with some dry ice, that was suppose to add the extra molecule of Co2 to the weed and make it stronger), I never notices any difference. Concerts were Cheap, i never got to see Hendricks and I never saw the Beatles, in fact I only know 2 people who ever saw the Beatles in concert. Mid 70's (?) Acapulco gold, and then Hawian came in, at least that's what they called it.

Any body remember what lid was used to dole it out? It was a prince Albert can top Jimi and Joplin at the capital in Patterson NJ hitched to it.orange sunshine was available and the hash was blond Lebanese blew me away just growing old,still growing! Peace
 
The 'lid' unit of measure, I thought, was the lid from a quart jar of Kraft mayonnaise dipped into the big bag and brought out heaping!
 
Don't forget Panama Red! The stuff we would get was called Columbian Gold because it was light tan in color and tasted like hash. It had buds but seeds too. Used an album cover to clean seeds and stems. It was much better than the run of the mill at the time but nothing like we now grow!!
 
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn at the Armadillo in Austin, Texas in the mid-70s, and I saw Willie Nelson for the first time in a club in Longview, Texas about the same time - I think the club was called Jerry's 400 Club. I'm a girl, I never paid a cover. I still see Stevie on a regular basis when take the dogs to lease free dog park at Auditorium Shores where there is a statue of him. In 1977, I bought ticket for $7.50 to see Lynyrd Skynyrd, but the concert was cancelled after the plane crash - I still have the unused tickets. I saw Pink Floyd in Dallas on their Animals tour, mid -70s. Most of what we had to smoke was out of Mexico, I purchased it by the kilo for between $90-110 and sold it for $8-10 for a lid/ounce.
 
Pot was usually sold in plastic sandwich bags and for me a lid was supposed to be 1 ounce - and usually 4 fingers (everything is bigger in Texas - right). And it contain the whole plant not just buds.
 
And how about Thai Sticks - Wohoo - Hash was so much more plentiful. 1/4 ounce black hash for $25, $5 a gram. 1st stone was on hash.
