I just raised the photo limits to 7000x7000 @ 8MB. Anyone mind letting us know what they're using to take pictures and how big these pictures are? The former limit was enough to fit a picture 3x larger than a monitor on 1080p.
Hmmm...I'm not sure what makes your friend think that, but it doesn't seem to be a memory issue. The image I've attached (from an account without admin permissions) is 6745x4502 and 7.05MB. If someone could post one of the errors they get when they're trying to upload, that'd help a lot.
I looked into it and this problem definitely has nothing to do with memory. Your phones (and many others including mine) take pictures in .jpg format but label it as .jpeg (sometimes the other way around). Normally this isn't a big deal, but the forum software we use sees it as trying to hide the extension for malicious reasons. That's why resizing apps work in this case: when you resize the image, it's actually making it so the file name matches the file type.
I'm not sure how we're going get around this since this isn't software we wrote ourselves, but at least now that we know what the problem is we can start prodding the right people to get it fixed.
Edit: Thanks for your help in getting this figured out Green75
