Have you ever heard of the young millionaires club? It exists. They did a case study where the old money and the new money contributed their current salary into a hat draw. These people were questioned on what they would change if they had to live off someone else’s salary. People who got salary increases wanted to buy more things for themselves. The individuals who received decreases in salary made changes to their businesses and sources of income...but no major lifestyle changes. Proof that the millionaires and trillion ares could receive substantially less money and still live their lavish lifestyles. If you ask why people should tell the ultra-rich how to spend that lavish amount of money, it’s because their lifestyle would not change. Now reverse their rolls and pay an underpaid employee a decent wage, that is a major lifestyle change for that particular family.
Why does this matter? Allowing the greed of give me more $ until you And your family hurt is causing the greatest wealth-poor gap any developed nation has ever seen. Empowering the middle class financially makes the entire countries economy greater. We are currently heading in the direction of an underdeveloped nation with the wealth -poor gap issues. Telling an individual who makes trillions to give back to the individuals that make their businesses profitable is smart economics. And protecting the individuals who make trillions is weakening our economy in this country. Who is the real victim there? The entire population of the US.
It’s an issue of sort term goals (making individuals rich) VS long term goals (economic improvements as a whole country).
