Hi so I am going through the set up faze right now. What i am struvgling with is with my carbon filter and air pump and duct. Ok so my issue is I see people lead the duct outside and let the air escape there. I am unable to lead my duct to outside. So, finally getting to my question, can I just have the carbon filter and air pump circulating air inside my grow tent?? No ducts leading out just constant filtering of the air inside. THANK YOU I really appreciate any help!!
 
Welcome idontknowwhatimdoing,
you can vent the tent air out to the room your tent is in but the next problem you will need to work out is HEAT.
 
Hello Idontknow, you ain't even gotta have it inside your tent, just in the same room is fine.Set your filter on the floor,an set your exaust fan on top of your filter-scrubber. You want have any pot smells, if you have a decent scrubber-fan. Hope that helps you some.
 
So the room I'm putting my tent in is always dark s d i keep it 70 degrees outside the tent. I was thinking I could get away with installing 1 or 2 fans on the inside of my tent to keep it at the right temperature. Do you think that is possible? Also if I vent the air in my tent through the scrubber and out into the room, the room won't smell correct? I appreciate the help!

Correct it should not smell. Now the answer about heat will depend on the size and type of light your going to use? The very best way to a inexpensive climate control system is fresh air can you supply some to the tent? Or will you pull air from the room?
 
The air will come from the room that it's in. It sits in a dark room that is always at 70%. I have many questions I was going to post this but I'll ask you. When I do have the air coming from outside the tent going into the tent do I need something to filter the air before it enters my tent?
 
They make filters, it is best to remember a inline tube can allowed Critters, dust, pollen, bugs and yes light in. You can run it straight but it increases things like mold, bug infestations, a dirty tent if you can I'd say filter it but it's not absolutely necessary.
 
Dude I really appreciate the help. I am trying to go low budget but I'm spending money where it is need I think I will end up around 900$ for everything. So yes having something to filter air is VERY important to me. If my first grow is bad I don't want it to be bc of bugs or disease. Do you have a link to a good system I can have to filter the air coming into the tent for a reasonable price?
 
No problem it's my pleasure. For 9 bills you will have a nice setup IV spent about the same and if you have questions about how I'm done you should read my "current problem" above, best advice is don't buy it twice. Get setup for you space, needs, and continuing budget for The Hobby the first time.

I believe that filter and fan to move clean air into my tent is the last thing I need. Yeah me and a busy are splitting the cost so we were able to get a rather nice first set up. Well i have another or question for you lol we plan on having a 48' x 48' x 80' tent or 4 feet by 4 feet by idk6 and a half. We got a 1000w light and we will have 4 plants. Is that a good ratio and space? And what size (gal) 'smart pot' should I buy for the plants? I see your pots look big
 
We are planning on our first few grows to buy super soil to avoid having to deal with nutrients and maybe messing up. Being that super soil is expensive so when it came to pots we wanted to buy smaller pots so we didnt need to buy as much super soil but I am not sure what happens if the plant is ina pot to smal. I dont wvn know if the olant prefers to have 7 gals compared to 3.
 
Just think of the pots and the plant the samething,
3-5-7, small-medium-large. The bigger the root ball, the bigger the plant, the bigger the flower.
You don't want to overdo it with plant size you don't have the space but you also don't want to overdo it with to many small plants. A good question is will you save time and money in the long run with 6 small plants or one big plant.
I grow in a 3x4=12sqft., last grow was 4 plants, I'm looking at my future grow to cut that down by 2 plants maybe even down to 1. and still yield the same with a scrOG

This will cut down the amount of water, fertilizer time figuring out each different plants needs with the same results. 3 gallon pots work well but you have to considered plant size can only get so big.
Do yourself a favor and whatever size pot fits your grow needs buy smartpots/geopots they increase plant size with a smaller capacity. Talk to D.A.A.S.69 about kindsoil and read a little about plant training.

Will I need one of those scrOG? I just did some research on it still a little confusing. Ok I think I'm going to do 5 plants in 5 gallon geopots but I won't fill up the full 5 gallons maybe 4 gallons of the pot and I think that will be produce perfect sized plants. Also I saw what you said you do with your lights. My friend convinced me to buy the two different light types that you use. Is 1000w lights to strong for 5 plants at 16 sqft? And you use different wattage at different stages. Should I do 800w in early life and 1000w during flowering? Ok I'll ask DAAS about soil.

MF told me to talk to you about soil. So because soil, hydroponics, and nutrients are so important to the plants life an I have never done ANY of this before I am planning on using super soil on my first few grow attempts to make it a little easier to start. I learned a little bit from what this site told me. It said it's pretty simple I just mix the super soil with coco and then just water. So basically I guess just want to hear your thoughts and see if you have any other tips or info that the site didn't tell me. Thanks!

I'm sure you could push a 1000 watt Hid light and 5 plants in a 4×4, but in my opinion it a overkill.
Yes on the 5 gals.
Only flower 4 plants first grow make sure it's not over crowded.
A 600 watt lamp with the right hood is a perfect fit, not to much. You may also look at ceramic metal halogen lights or lec. You can ask Dass about them too.

I like what you said up above about not wanting to have bugs mess up your grow--AND you don't want other preventable problems messing it up, either. The more you read about growing cannabis while you are actually doing it, the more chances you have for a problem-free grow. Although problems do pop up, and handling them is part of the art of cultivating our favorite weed.

I live in a very cold County and my growing tent is currently "the house heater" I have a quality carbon filter and my "hot air" from my growing tent is pumping out in the same room, I dont even need a heater to have 25C in the room and its 10-15- C outside :D
