I read a lot about the "stretch" - but I have a "pause"

Hey all. Is a "pause" a thing? Maybe before a stretch?

Trimmed and set up the screen for a ScrOG but it feels like the ladies just stopped growing.

Is that a thing?

Sorry. I should add:

Very healthy plants
600 Watt MH lights for Veg

Yup, A few of us know it as Pot (cannabis) puberty or cannabis adolescence.

Happen's on days #35-#42 for me and is so noticable that I have started additional plants -fearing they weren't going to make it and then end up with a crowded tent-

A result of the original crop taking hold and growing out of it.

When you trim, they need time to recover. So yes...there is a pause for recovery. To lessen that time, some people say to trim a little bit over a longer period of time rather than all in one day. I can not really say which method is most effective in lessening that pause time though.

Thank You all for the help! Looks like we are back on track. The stretch was noticeable and now there are clusters starting where I expect the buds to grow. Getting some of that nice stink too.

How many weeks of vegetation did you give them?

I found on my current grow that the strains needing another week or two in veg were stunted in their stretch (I mixed the wrong strains in the same grow box).

The reds in HPS create a stretch itself. I use MH for the first two weeks of bloom. The stretch is much less with the blue light this way.

HPS is great for putting on the weight. Which happens after the initial stretch.
Yes, you can run the cfl with the HPS for enhanced spectrum.
I run cfl as side lighting. I use normal veg tubes for the first two weeks, then switch out for the red color tubes durring weeks 3-6. On an eight week strain for the last two weeks I switch out the red tubes for UV. I run the UV for 15 min every 2 hours until harvest. I find this produces the most desirable spectrum with my HPS lighting.

I never heard of the UV stuff. Just googled it. Pretty cool way to induce more THC. The thing I read speculated that extra doses of UV is what gives the "Rif Mountains of Morocco, the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon, and the Hindu Kush" its specialness. It is pretty cool to try and bring the outside, inside. I like the mix of art and science.

Thanks

Yes. The originator to the study noticed higher elevations (more UV present) did infact contain more THC and less CBD. The control (no UV present) had less THC than the UV grown bud...but also contained more CBD.
One thing to note is that UV light will slightly lower the total yield. So something to be aware of.

42 day Veg. I think they are really short. I was trying to for that because I was reading about putting the scree 8-10 inches over the lip of the pot and staking them down to get an even ScrOG.

(looks like come comments were deleted - weird)

I gave this a try a couple grows ago back and was wonderfully surprised at how short the plant stayed. Didn't even come close to topping out my light/tent.

I don't understand why your plants are barely out of the pots: it looks like there was very little vertical growth in veg and no stretch at all in the first 3 weeks of flower. I don't understand why they are so short.
