I need your ultimate seed germination remedy please!

Hello. I ve a constant fail on seed starting. They just not germinating or cannot sprouting. This issue for me is unsolvable. Maybe since 4-5 years, when winter comes I'm looking for an answer. In summertime its ok. It is incredibly difficult to obtain seeds for me. Basically I can do it illegally and pretty expensively. I can't help but care. I wonder what is the ultimate solution for good germination rates and rooting. I wonder If there is a high-tech lab level kit or something:D Im ready to pay.

Below I briefly summarize the points that I took into consideration and the methods that I tried. Most of those are combined with each other in different environmental conditions. I must admit that I did not observe any consistent results. It feels like the trials that were successful happened by luck.


So I every time buy different strains from different banks within years. Expensive or cheap ones did not change anything. For me it’s just phenomenon when it comes to germinate rates and good rooting.

I always keep my seeds in the refrigerant and dark place or I kept them in deep freeze. I kept it outside too. It doesn’t matter. I can wait at most a year for a seed.

I used every typical method that I heard. I combined those with each other. Soaking, scratching, paper towel, directly to mediums like soil mixes, cocos, peats, wools.

I keep them in dark place during the germination. I tried different temperatures between 18-28 C (65-82 F). I keep my environment extremely sterilized. I use even gloves on every step. I used hydrogen peroxide. I adjusted the PH. I added liquid root developers for those who have sprouted or did not anything at all. Ive humidifier, humidity dome, heat mat, thermometer, hygrometer, EC meter. I used spring water, deionized or reverse osmosis.

Maybe there are other stuff that I can’t remember for now. What Im trying to say is somehow If its winter in outside I can’t help it. They cannot germinate well or cannot survive at mediums. Sometimes I’m losing 20 seeds in a row. I feel like crying.

Sorry the post became a bit complaining and grumbling:D. I'll end by sharing my current experience to clarify.

I scratched and soaked at deionized water 4 of them. Two of them a little bit germinated in 24 hours. Then I immediately put them to coco tablets which is washed on ph adjusted -hydrogen peroxide added warm water. Im spraying them with same mix. They are under 24 hours light. Lights are pretty soft and in a distance more than a meter. I use humidifier and timer for to not overdo it. In tent heat is around 26 C and moisture level %60. It looks like they won't be able to make it again.


Im hopeless, please help!

Some use root starters...they have a specific name I forget which.
 
'Soft lights' more than a meter away? Unless that light is a professional type, high-bay light, your plants are not getting enough light.
Simplify. A seed needs two things to become a seedling: water and a place to push a root. It doesn't even need light until it has poked its shell above surface. It does not need root developer or nutrients of any kind. 8.0 pH water will start a seed just fine. It doesn't need a special plug to start in. It doesn't need special water.
Try growing a different type of flower if you are having a hard time with weed. Until you can get your handle on getting some type of flower to grow, you're just going to keep wasting pot seeds.
 
They need some warmth too, not hot, warm. I struggled to get 100% germ rate until I started using a heating mat with temp controller set to 80f. It was a game changer and I’ve lost count on how many seeds I’ve started with it but I’m 100% even with years old seeds stored at room temp.
 
Thank you for your reply. My lights are good enough I believe. I used them since 5-6 years and got great results. Soft means it has a dimmer so Im adjusting to lowest level. I can measure by the way I had lightmeter too. I'm just trying to give them enough to get them out. And I did because I heard many people doing this.
Actually Im also trying to focus spesific seeds. Today Im crazy surprised with a news. I did my own seeds a couple of years ago by usual pollen transfer. I did not used most of those because the original strains was kinda herma type. Last week I put them to a pot and left on outside. Today I realized many of them came out. I go crazy bro, nights are around 10 degree in here and somehow they succeed it. I started to think this is all about seeds and I'm trying in vain. All those other factors seems like a bit butterfly effect. I'm starting to think they fooled me, I mean those marketplaces. At least the ones that I can shop. I cant buy from any real breeder, just from retailers.
 
I don't get it.
Original post was you've been having problems for 4-5 years. Post 3.1 says you've been using your lights for 5-6 years with no problems. If you haven't gotten any seeds going for 4-5 years, what have you been growing for 5-6 years?
And I'm super curious about what your light is. Care to share?
 
Try the float tech, just a fancy name for filling a glass half way with water and leave the seeds float, don't swirl cause theyl sink to the bottom. Floating ensures the seed gets water but also air and oxygen. Once they open you can move to paper towels or rooters or directly to medium. Works for me way better than other methods. Don't use any other chemicals. Just water and air. That's how a seed in the ground will sprout when it rains
 
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try this most simplistic method. I believe it may works really because they reacted well first in water. Some people claimed that they drowned in the water so that why I moved to a medium. But what a surprise as long as they float they actually gettin air.
 
Dude my issue is not about the light. Because once they germinated well, they grow well. I always have this problem during the winter as I mentioned in the post. My problem is that the seeds do not sprout. Like you know, when they in water, paper towel etc. They can grow even in the shadow for a week. Im not doing this for serious grows. I just did for fun with bulk seeds.

But of course I can share for any comments about my setup. Im planing to buy a new boards soon and try a new brand. This is the setup that I use in a 1.20 x 1.20 meter (3.95x ft) tent.

I used the H²O² method. Worked fine for some but had issues with many stalling for weeks once sprouted and stuffed up my timing of the grow. I'd only use this method again on very old seeds and possibly the medium, coco, may not have been great for that method, I'm not sure what went wrong with them though. Paper towel method has always worked best for me.
 
I've had good luck with 2 days in water, then into paper towel .. but I just got one of these https://cannakan.com/pages/about and OMG did it up my game & % Set off 29 beans last Weds, really have to squeeze to have 20 to start --- I have 20 , plus 2 more in a cup (same cup) , then I let it brew another night, and now I have another cup that I shoved 5 , so only put 2 into the garbage , all but 1 of those 27 has pushed up more than 2 inches ( once they came out of the "can") into a rooter plug that is in a short 4inch cup with co-co

I am sure one of the YouTube weed channel has a coupon code -- I got my via seedman, they had them , but I think everyone is out of stock, but this thing rocks!
 
I have had the best success with soaking in tap water from a well for 24 hours then plant directly in moist coco. How old are your seeds? Idk about freezing. I think you may be killing them with kindness. I put them in a south window until they pop, then gentle led light.
