I need help - seriously

ph is important for plants to absorb nutrients from the soil. Until they develop roots, they are not absorbing anything.
Be weary of who is providing the information on here. Not all growers created equal.

Potted oh you are one of those that needs to see proof? Ok here you are, my last harvest. Now your turn. Let’s see what you are growing on there.

Take a look at, bad boy....again, I post weekly with progress of my grow. Those are sum lovely looking buds u got there a couple of weeks ahead of me I would guess?
and no I’m not one of those Toker1 that has to see,but I’ve been on this site since it’s inception and hav seen so much bs over the years here that I had to call your bluff.
and yes I know u get those picks anywhere. Your picks all over the site? Now I see 3, thanks

I’m misunderstanding doesn’t the tap root come before any leaves appeared? And the tap root wants PHed water. And Toker1 makes a good point. If u do your own research cuppled with the advice gotten here, sift thru it all and u will find the answer.

Love how you are looking at my grow, you are not posting yours...but it’s some how my bluff. 🤥Since you have seen 3, of my Picts looks like the count is 3-0 as of right now.
You can check out any of my past posts with plenty of Picts. I have done grow journals here. CBD plants and THC plants.
You grow anything besides those autos?
I’m not trying to measure my D with you here.
Been doing this for some time now. Over 23 years growing under my belt.
You just picked the wrong one today. Dosent seem like you know me at all. Happy growing. ✌️

There are as many ways to grow/ as there are growers, there is no one definitive way,we all have our own opinions and stile on how to grow. Thu experience and information that’s been gathered and works thus we improve. Check out my post if u want to see pictures of my current grow 5 diff. Strains 7 plants under 1 LEC 315. PEACE bro, agree to disagree 👌

I’m not exactly sure what we are even disagreeing about. You asked for Picts, I provided. We talked about past experiences posting here.
What in my first post exactly do you not agree with?

I’ve been growing since before u were walking over fourth years mostly outside photos Sativas from central and S.America but am not particular came inside when health issues arose about 5 years ago. Now I do bouth gorilla grows, and inside grows. U don’t know me,as for the comment 12.2 tap root needs no PHed water wtf? That just one

Durring root development, the plant survives on its own nutrition. Look up the glyoxylate cycle of plants. This will explain it much better than I can.

PH adjusting water is pointless at this stage because the plant is not able to absorb anything from the soil quite yet.
He said he was using FFHF. I use the same exact kind and am getting great results with out PH adjusting for juveniles. I never add anything into the water with fresh seedlings or clones, because it inhibits their root growth. Once some foliage starts to develop, then it’s a different ball game.
Got any other ones you would like to know more about?

I did not say anything about nutrients, I prewater my starters pots with PHed water a day before,I put the seed that’s been soaking in PHed water till cracked and puts out the tap root, when is the right time iyo to switch from no ph check water to watering at 6.5 or thereabouts? Seems silly not to ph the water from the start and many growers agree. Seeds have enough nutrients on there own for a week or two like most seeds, thanks that info.... dust it off.... it has cobwebs on it

That might work for you... but if you are using FFHF soil, like we are currently discussing. The soil is already PH adjusted. So there is no need to pre-adjust soak or anything like that. Don’t take my word for it, give the manufacturer a call.
It’s like I already said, first few weeks plain tap. After foliage begins (second to third set of leaves), PH adjust away.

Hey Guys, After some research, the points you are both making are both valid as germination is a preference based on past experience and results. Technically the water does not have to be PH'ed until veg starts at which time when feed starts, ph starts . This only is the case based on the media and its PH you are germinating in . PH'ing water during germination is a skill set taught learned as part of the entire grow package to maintain consistency through the entire grow . There are pros and cons to both based on experience in the growing community . If we teach here on the forum a skill set that is performance based we can eliminate the confusion of should I. You are both very knowledgable about growing, just different views. Just my 2 cents. Good Growing !!

You are correct. I wasn’t trying to say not to PH adjust your medium... I was only saying with FFHF it’s unnecessary because the medium is already adjusted.
I can tell you for a fact... the more you put into your water, the lower your successes rates are for young plants. Especially when taking clones (seeds seem to be a bit more hearty). I pull 50-75 clones per month with 99% success. When I start adding stuff to the tap water, increasing the EC and PPM... the rates drop to approx 80% for me.
There is no wrong way to grow a good bud, but success rates are data that can not be ignored.
Our friend here is PH adjusting and getting low success rates. Which is why I suggested to skip the PHing next go around. Seems like it’s not working for our friend.
That’s what sparked this debate.

As others stated, FFHF is just fine for seedlings. I only use it for germinating and put the seed into soil straight away for germinating. I've had 11/11 success rate with this. 3/3 with peat pellets. I use FFHF in a solo cup (clear), and place that in a red solo cup. I then put a clear solo cup on top of the solo with a solo. Until the girl has started her 3 finger leaves and is a seedling. Pull clear cup out of red cup, and you can see the root growth well on the sides! I use Nature's Living soil concentrate. I never need nutrients now. FFHF takes care of the nutrients for a good 3 to 4 weeks. When I transplant, I either do a super soil layer mix or a living soil mix. No nutrients ever added, and no nutrient burn or deficiency in any of the plants since this method. 3 in wk 5 flower, 2 in wk1 of flower, and 2 in wk 9 of veg. One of the plants was transplanted without nature's living soil concentrate at all. I placed a 16oz top layer of straight living soil concentrate for a top feed on that one. She's started flower, and has never had any deficiencies. That's the only one I'm worried about making it to harvest without issues. I think I will be fine and can add another layer.

I forgot to say....I never have actually ph my water....because it was already at a good ph on it's own. It is those gallon jugs of spring water from Walmart. But like you say I won't bother ph ing it anyway until third set of leaves.....if I can ever get that far without my seedlings dying! Lol

Just out of curiosity what is the name of the water and is the water purified ? Tap water has minerals that help in the plants growth and purified water they are removed. When your roots are starting to form and ready to feed these minerals are the kickoff to their start. when you use purified water without feeding you wash out the minerals in the soil you are growing or germinating in. This is from experience. Just a thought. Also research Walmart Spring Water, you may decide to change. Good Luck!
Good Growing !!

Spring water has essential minerals already dissolved in it.
Want to know something. I never PH adjust my water or nutrients through out the entire grow. 🤭
I used to... but don’t anymore. I already have it dialed in. FF uses PH buffers that stabilize the soil. I know my nutes go in at around 5.5 and my tap comes out at 7-7.5 consistently. After all the feeding and watering is done, my run off always comes out around 6.5. I found the acidic nutrients get neutralized by the higher PH of the tap water. Found this out after years and years of adjusting.
I know this is not a conventional method. Hell, some people might even ask me for more pictures of my grows because they are so shocked. 😳
As long as your roots are in a happy PH zone, and you don’t get any deficiencies durring your grow... doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing.
What do you plant to do about the heat issue?

Like Toker said its spring water...from a natural spring...not purified. It has minerals. I dont like the fact that tap has chlorine in it
