I have to harvest early...what do I do?

Awesome buds indeed! 👍 They look like they'll definitely give you some manner of head spin! 😊 My oil extracts use combinations of Algae, olive, and MCT oils. I chopped the freshly harvested buds into the oil, heated the mixtures at various temps and times, 150F to 250F from 6 to as much as 16 hours, then consume the result (which includes the plant material, usually about 1/2 teaspoon or so per dose). Like I mentioned previously, this has worked for my needs. Also the extracts will vary depending on the THC/CBD ratios of the plants used...higher THC means higher high! 🐸
 
abadtrip rockman I'm also very interested in that right now! I was reading a blog yesterday that said that tinctures are good because they wear off faster than edibles do. So I'm looking forward to making some tinctures!
 
Hey there abadtrip, @alltatup...here are a few more details on my extractions. First, I want to point out that I have not had my batches undergo lab testing, but so far rely upon what kind of effects that I feel after ingesting. Also, these extracts (in oil) are primarily considered as "edibles" , and not so much as tinctures (though I previously made them using alcohol (Everclear), and as such could be used sublinqually for a more rapid absorption. Whereas my edible oils get metabolized by the liver and offer a longer duration of effects. So as far as what I've done in oil...first I got quite a few 2 cup glass containers. As my summertime harvests (staggered) were made, I chopped up the fresh buds into a container, covered that with the oil of choice, then heated the mixture in a small toaster oven (covering the container) at temps ranging from 250F for 6hours, down to 150F for 16hours (the lower temps at a longer time preserving more of the beneficial but heat fragile terpenes). For greater conversion of the THCA and CBDA acids to THC and CBD, I chose the higher temps. Then I would test the batch by consuming anywhere from 1/4 teaspoon to a full teaspoon (in the case of high CBD strains which were less psychoactive). Again, this experimentation with my extractions has not been lab tested, and was possible because I had abundant harvests to play with this year. After hanging to dry for 4 days, I removed the buds from the stems to place into jars. The buds were loose and airy, not rock hard, like I prefer but the total weight of this single plant's buds is 1 pound and 5 1/2 ounces. WoW! If only I could have brought this girl to full potential! I will cure these buds for several months to see if it smokable or vapable, and/or use primarily in cooking and edibles. I'm kind of a control freak so growing outdoors takes a lot of this control away.

After a year and a half of learning and experimenting with what works best for me, my needs and my abilities, I have found my preferred method of growing and will stick with growing indoor using a SCRoG and 2 plants. 2 to 4 ounces per plant (2 plants, 3 times a year = 12 to 24 ounces a year) is enough for my personal use and to be generous with family and friends.
 
Final Weight: 1 pound and 5 1/2 ounces (or 21 1/2 ounces) from ONE plant. If only I could have ripened her up 2-3 more weeks. Because all trichomes were clear, I think I'll use all of this in eatables and dry ice hash rather than smoke or vape any of it.

The buds have been curing only two weeks but I'll pull out some to allow a longer cure. I'm going to wait for a month before I first try it, and them I'll continue to cure for up to 6 months. This plant stated out as an experiment - and so it continues...

I'll follow up with a report of my 'test runs'. Thanks!
