Hygrometer came

My hygrometer came today. I did not take time to calibrate it. Says it should take a 24 hour period to do that. I reset it and dropped it into one of my two canning jars, each about 2/3 full I would say. I bought the one the Nebula's link under curing took me to. The Caliber IV digital by Western. For some reason, I thought it was the kind that came with a probe to insert into jar, not the whole unit. But that is not the case. I'll check on it in a few hours.

Meanwhile putting the dehumidifier back in the tent did the trick. My temps stayed within a 2 degree range of 65 and the humidity stayed within a two degree range of 55. I hope remaining buds are ready to jar over the weekend
 
I saw uber cheap ones on eBay (my online choice of shopping, because I am also a seller). They came from China or Hong Kong for under $2. But do they really do a good job and how long do they last?

I will probable end up with six or seven jars max. For now, I am going to just rotate the one I bought.

And yes, the one in your link is way cool. Black glass with meter built into lid. It looks like a small jar though, and at $10 a pop would really add up.
 
ten bucks each????? I GUESS I WOULD RATHER SPEND THE MONEY ON A NEW volcano VAPERISER. I GUESS 1 FOR YOUR PERSONAL JAR WOULD BE NICE.
 
The Herbidore does look good for your day ration but way small for curing. And from my experience with Boveda packs, if you put a 62 in a jar that small you don't need a hygrometer to know it's 62...it will be. My concern is the accuracy at that price point. I was a tad concerned with the Caliber IV but I bought one and tested using Bovedas and was satisfied so I bought 4 more and reassuringly they all agree. Old joke: One clock, everybody knows what time it is;Two clocks, nobody knows what time it is. Also, the Caliber has a thermometer and some other features that probably keep it north of 10 bucks. Also, those analog dial types don't seem too accurate based on the two decorative ones on the wall at our house. Love to have a couple of Herbidores to compare with the Calibers (I have a tendency too "picky", shall we say). Anyway I went with the same hygrometer as insomniac and they're here to stay.
 
Yeah Clear, I paid $27 with free shipping. Seems high, but I feel certain it will last for a very long time. Very well made, and yes does temp and rh and has other settings as well like keeping track of the min / max within a certain time period. If we have a bigger harvest next grow, I may invest in a second one. Rotating is no problem. Only need to keep in it jar like one hour to be assured of an accurate reading.
 
I could get by rotating two if I knew what I was doing with this cure process but I've got two cure experiments going on in parallel with the cure process described on GWE and needed extra hygrometers. Trying to recover from severely over drying my first crop.
 
What..volcano vaporizer...for not knowing nothing you sure do know what the best is....I knew you were something special
