Hello,I have been researching DWC systems and have seen systems that do not use a water pump just the air pump,has anyone used these type of systems.

In my grow in a 10 gallon tub using 5 gallons of water you want that pump circulating the nutrients, just moving water. The pump sucking in the tub, the roots love it and I think fight over who gets to try and penetrate the pump first.

And me saying that I had 18 oz on 2 plants.

Hello,I talked to the manufacturer and they said it does not use water pump,they get great results with only air pump,just looking to see if anyone has gone that direction and grown with only air and using the bubbles to circulate the nutrients.

While I haven't used that setup personally, I am familiar with them.

The trick with them is you have to keep hand watering, or setup a drip, until the roots make it to the reservoir. Once they do, you're all set and the reservoir and airstone will do all the work.

Thanks,I figured that i would have to set up drip line,or water until roots touched water,thanks for the info,i think i am going to give it a try,see what happens.

I too have been doing much research on DWC.. I am sure that is the way I'm going to go.

My question (one of thousands)......is this.....

I am considering using a tote larger than 10 gallons.

What is the proper amount of water in the tote....??
If I used a 20 gal tote.....would I keep 10 gallons in the tote....??
or.....1/2 the capacity of the tote...??

please help this feeble ole man....

With DWC I understand as long as the roots are under water, And you have many bubbles you will be fine with your res. at any level as long as your roots are under the water. At least that is what I was told as I dontknownuttin.
