I'll start by admitting, I dont do hydro, but those smells come from whats there for the roots to absorb. Things like "terpinator" add sulfur and potash, the sulfur is for that smell/taste and the potash makes flowers.
Heres one back at ya, I grew 2 clones from the same plant, one inside and one outside, both in the same soil (my own mix) both look (colour/LED fade) smell and taste different. One had real sunshine while the other had LEDs, the inside is the more flavorful and aromatic, and the leaves lite in colour and purpled. The outside one stayed green.
