Hydro to soil clone

So I’m pretty sure I know the answer but figured I’d ask any way
so if a plant is grown hydroponically can clones of it be put into soil
my general method of cloning is after I add the cloning powder or gel I put into water but I don’t have enough buckets for clones and was thinking dirt

I always start my clones in jiffy rooters or rockwool cubes. I put one in coco coir one time. It did fine. Should be fine.
