Hurricane LANE

God bless us all!! We got hammered by hurricane Matthew coupla years ago, I lost power for a week. But the grow made it through! The hurricanes are becoming more extreme, I think.

alltatup yes the weather around the country has been odd and very dangerous for millions this year that is for sure. Not just here but around the planet.. we had 95 f for weeks and humidity at 100% for weeks, now rainfall like we have not had in three months, to us that can mean a slight 20 mph gust of wind could bring down large trees that around here don’t have a lot of ground root space due to the rock infrastrucure of the area.

I’ve prob been watching weather channel a bit too much but it’s becoming almost apocalyptic.....
I’m lucky that is all we have had to deal with unlike many who have lost lives homes and relatives due to the weather, I do still see everyone driving way too close to the vehicle in front, or crossing barriers that block off flooded roads, But I lost a friend to an electrical storm some years back, he was out tending the estate we both managed together and wain an open dale, heading toward cover when the strike hit the ground near to him and killed him instantly... it’s hard to except that we die by nature also and not by each other’s hands which often seems to be the more likely and more easily accepted reality.

NAKEDGARDENER For me it's heartbreaking what's happening: my only consolation is believing that if homo sapiens makes the planet unfit for life, eventually Mother Nature will clean everything up and the cycle will begin again.

It's just surreal the way so many folks in positions of power are in denial, or have a death wish, or don't care what happens to the planet. Those poor deluded people really believe that money is the most important thing.

Just checked out the eve news and weather ,Holy crap, the islands got no where to hide.things could turn to shit real fast😩with 20’ waves and a cat 4-5 hurricane bearing down on them. In my thoughts and prayers.

It’s stlll a generational thing I think now alltatup, non of us have learned from the mistakes of previous generations, I am a gen x person, pidgeonholed yes but the dreamers who brought some of mans greatest achievements also had those that brought us the worst, technology has and is changing rapidly and today’s generations and the one that follows has no idea of what happened even less than 100 yrs ago, they think they are separate from it yet they elect leaders who use rhetoric in the same way as Hitler did, and trust them, they that make no sacrifice on behalf of the nation they lead but demand all those that elected them and especially those that did not, make a sacrifice meanwhile the planet is dying and evicting us but they don’t care about the future they care of only now. They believe in God, yet that god is i their own image.. sorry for the long speel, I’m not religious apart from the only home we have, and sometimes, due to the type of medicine I use, I am a free and enlightened thinker, who wants to love all mankind and celebrate its achievements, but I know at heart, we are selfish beings who need accolades, badges of office, captains of industry... politicians, Satan’s servants, if you will, by their actions they show they are opposed to us, the people... they represent only what the top 1 % want, greed greed and more greed. In Britain we nearly had a second revolution in the punk era, the authorities were so scared of it and it’s slogan “Eat The Rich” that they declared war on anyone who wanted to gather in a public space without a license, they called it the criminal justice bill, we called it an abuse of power... things have not changed thirty years later, in USA we are going through it and I think it will happen, when people take control again. At least I hope so, I gave up all of my life and past to emigrate to this country and I love it mote than the one of my birth, I hope I made the right choice, but if I didn’t I’m here to stay so would go down with all of ya if that’s what it came to, and proudly so..

And I'm glad you're here, NG, cuz we need thinkers like you. I remember the almost punk revolution, and it was a beautiful thing to see. But everyone is too busy on their cell phone these days to protest...
