Humidity problem

I'm having problems with bringing down my humidity especially after watering. I'm using a 2x2x5 tent with an exhaust fan pulling air out and an oscillating fan to circulate air. My plants are ready to switch light cycle for flowering but I'm having a hard time with humidity. Will using a dehumidifier help to bring the humidity down enough for flowering? I'm stuck now between 50 and 60%.
 
Your fine. You can use a dehu to drop the humidity levels but consistent 50% - 60% won't hurt your plants. The only thing it will do is increase the likelihood of bud rot but you aren't there yet.

Not sure of the area you are in but summer is coming in the states and things are going to get drier unless you live in the southeast where humidity never drops below 90%. You may be able to let the season bring lower humidity but if you want to be able to control it yourself then a dehu is the only answer. If you will be placing the dehu in your lung room understand that it will add heat to the lung room so you'll have to contend with adding some cooling to the lung room to stabilize your temp.

Depending on the size of your lung room, I would also suggest you look into a refrigerator condensation pump so that you don't have to constantly empty the dehumidifier. I had a 5 x 5 setup in a 12 x 12 home office. I used a 9 liter dehumidifier. I had to empty the dehumidifier at least twice a day. I was in the southeast. It was a PITA until I connected the drain hose on the dehumidifier to drain into the condensate pump. After that it would automatically drain the dehumidifier reservoir into the vegetable garden so ne need to have to keep emptying the dehumidifier.
 
These plants are called “weed” for a reason. Like all weeds, they are capable of surviving in a wide range of conditions. There is no need to worry about RH being in the 50-60% range. When people talk about the ideal temp/rh/ph/ec/ppm….it all comes with a margin of error that will still let you harvest some good bud.

More important to your plants is the VPD. You can still get some awesome bud even at 60-70% RH if the VPD is met with higher temps. Your plants will tell you what they need. It’s not always good to force the plant into conditions they don’t want.

While I agree that VPD is a good tool to have, I reserve that tool for larger rooms. Small spaces like a 2 x 2 are much harder to stabilize due to the interior size and the quickly fluctuating conditions. If you can stabilize the environment in the lung room your VPD should not be that far off inside the tent.

Even in my 5 x 5, while I do look at VPD I don't chase numbers. Can it help me in my adjustments? For sure. As you stated, these plants can take a wide range of conditions.
 
I do live in the Southeast and yes my grow space is often 85+F in summer and the humidity well into 70% -80%. I grow tropical strains in the summer for that exact reason. That said, if you keep your plants well defoliated and the air moving around, you will likely be fine.
 
Does anyone know of a good dehumidifier with a humidistat? I bought one that I could place in the tent but noticed there's a light that doesn't turn off so I can not use it.
 
A dehu inside the tent is not the answer. If you are exchanging air properly the dehu will not have enough time to change the rh of the air in the tent. If you want to change the rh in the tent you will need to control the rh of the surrounding room (lung room).
 
My tent is in a 12x12 room. Do you think the spider farmer 32 pint dehumidifier will work in a room that size?
 
Should. I have a similar size lung room and use a 25 pint dehumidifier. It sits in the lung room and not the tent. I like the idea of the condensate pump but have no way to drain that outside. I elevated the dehumidifier and it drains into a 5 gallon bucket.

25 pints is approximately 3 gallons plus a pint. I used a 9 liter, 2 1/2gal, humi in a similiarly sized room and it was fine. I had to empty it a couple times a day but other than that it worked fine. Does your humidifier have a drain hose? If so you can use a refrigerator condensate pump to drain the humi condensate into and it will pump the water out to where ever you direct the hose. I used one in my setup after getting sick of coming home to a tent that was at 70% humidity because the humi reservoir got full and it shut off.
