I have a lil Vicks humidifier that puts off a steam mist, would that be ok for inside my 4x4 and or a 4x8 grow tent? It has had Vicks liquid stuff in the lil chamber but I soaked it overnight and running u can just Barely catch s hint of menthol... Would that be ok around the plants? And what humidity percentage should my tent be at during veg and the percentage

How is the temperature in the space? If you are borderline high temperatures, you need a humidifier that has a cool mist. I believe Vicks type units use warm mist which will increase temperatures inside the tent. Personally, I would not be comfortable with even a little Vaporub in the tent, but I have no idea if could cause problems :).

For humidity in veg, you will hear many opinions. With good airflow and pruning I think high 50s to high 60s is fine. I know GWE has guidelines for humidity at all stages. Happy growing!

You definitely don't want warm humidity, will be like a jungle. Cool mist. How low is your humidity that you think you need one? fifty to sixty humidity is ideal for veg stage, but I don't think a little lower will hurt. We have growers that live in the desert and really low rH and grow great bud! A pan of water near fan may do the trick.

I've had many successful grows with rh in the 30's. Didn't seem to have any problems. I've never had optimum RH in my tent so I don't have a control grow to actually tell if low RH caused any issues. My ladies always seem happy tho.

I used the same type of Vicks humidifier used at one time with menthol. I cleaned it very good and put it behind my fans. Works well for my girls no problems..

My tent running between 70-80 depending on time of day n humidity between 30-40%... It not really sealed I have all the vents open actually being I have to hear the room because it's so cold

Will u please take a min and check out my journal on here... "1st DWC grow journal week 1" or something close to that lol

Wet towel hanging in g.r. Works for me dries out humidity drops repeat last me about two days. Not hard and saves elect. $$$ just keeping it simple. (not dripping wet!) I just had to say that lol

Hey bud, I am also on my first grow and like you I worried about my RH, I used to turn on my shower on hot hot a few times a day which raised my RH a bit, but my RH with seedling was about 30%, going as low as 25 and as high as 40 with my shower, at 25 they were not too happy , but around 30-40 they were cool, although they would not have complained with a higher RH.
I am not an expert but you don't want more than 60-70 I'd say. My veg was going at an average of 45%, they did very well.
I've learnt and am still learning that you tend to over think and exaggerate everything in your mind, and forget that those little plants can be incredibly resilient.

If water builds up on the leaves, too much. Once my seedlings get established in the pot, I use the hell out of my humidifier. My RH never gets above 30 percent. most of the time it's in the 20s.

No Title

I can get my RH up to 100 with light off but with humidifier and light on with tent open I hold steady about 70-80%... It's cold here n I use led so have to heat room tent in to keep temps right... I posted pic of my tent with humidifier on floor in front of door if u look close ... The leaves are a lil wet yet from my foliar spray but usually to the naked eye there no moisture on leaves, under magnifying glass u can see lil droplets but looks mostly dry normally ... Edit... I posted another pic of one that looks more normal instead of 2 min after I sprayed them ..
