How to screen?

I got a couple of 4" screens and tried a couple of way to use them. They came un mounted, so I use a hose clamp on a plastic plumbing part. I put ground flower in it, and use the handle end of a small pair of scissors to push it around and get the tri's to fall out.
Not very efficient. But seems to work OK. Having never done this, I'm not sure what I should expect.
I don't want to use dry ice if I can get away with it.

Any insights about screen techniques would be appreciated.

You don't want to grind it up too much or you'll just get a bunch of plant in it. At that point you might as well smoke a bowl.
screening isn't a very good way to make much hash. It takes forever and what you get for the time, to me isn't worth it. Get the bubble bags and dry ice if you want to make some hash.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. I got a decent little pile off my 2 gram test. Just time consuming and really no way to tell what percentage of hash its getting. Most? All? Just a tad?
Infusing this first sample in coconut oil now. Low heat, 160-170 F.
The flower had been decarb'd, so this will be edible.

Jason , try placing the crushed up bud in the deep freezer for several hours before You run it over the screen. Most home freezers get down to around -10° F and this will help to firm up the tricomes making them more brittle and easier to separate. The dry ice chills the bud down to -109° F and does a better job.

You can normally tell by the color how good it is. The greener the more plant material is in it. Tan is better, but clear stuff that melts at room temperature is what we all want.
