SOIL How to fully flush without drowning

Hey GWE, before I do what needs to be done I have some concerns.
I have a suspected nutrient burn on my hands and for the last week I've only gave pH water, no nutes. Before I return to my P-K solution at half strength, I'd like to really flush my plants, but I'm scared that they will drown. This MiracleGro(god have mercy on me) soil gets compact when wet, and I've dealt with overwatering before and I wasn't even flushing. My plant is pretty big now so she does drink a lot heavier, but I'm still worried. Is there anyway I can safely flush this plant (with runoff) without drowning it?

Repot to fiber without the M.G. or drill about a hundred holes in it and let er rip.

Can't replant, but I do have at least 50-60 holes in the bottom.

Do it all at once for a flush - take your pot size and multiply it by 3 and that's how many gallons you carefully pour through your pots for a flush.

Thanks Canuck. I'm filling my jugs now and balancing pH. I can't avoid the plants drooping so I suppose it should be fine as long as it dries. I'm guessing my pot is around 4 gallons? Would I have to water 12 gallons?

Put it in the tub is where i do big watering but i don't give anything but water & molasses last few weeks.

SoOrbudgal that's a great idea. I was wondering how many times I'd have to remove the excess water, but the tub solves that.

When you're done let your pot dry out for a couple days completely this will solve your over-watering problem.

Thanks Mr.furley. I flushed with 12 gal of water and on my last dump I used 50% dosage of my Flower fuel. Should I use any CalMag? My solution has 2 percent nitrogen in it so I'm not sure if thats a good idea

Whole idea of a flush is to eliminate nutrients not ADD.

For a serious emergency flush I put em in the tub & run 20-50gal through with the shower head then ph'd cal mag to fill the pot. Dry em out & give molasses or rootguard.

Yep it's good to let them dry light as air almost. My plastic get so light with my mix. I write it down and have to look always, kinda forgetful

Drowning happens when you water to often not how much you use in a single watering. When you water wait until she's dry or light however you decide works for you, water with enough water that you get about 20% runoff that helps her from salt (plant poop lol) buildup in the roots.

I only added 1/3 gallon of that 50% P-K solution. I thought by flushing you're rinsing ALL nutrients out leaving the plant with nothing. :/

Yes that is the whole idea - then you can let it dry out and start anew.
