How long before purple?

My purple aurora strain should grow purple buds. How long before I see this change? Just impatient I guess lol.

2 weeks, Mr. Pankace remember that patience... you have to be happy for awhile looking at everyones girls here. Look at this one?

Just because colors might be in the genes does not mean they will appear...sometimes it takes the right conditions like cooler temps real cool...

Some will throw color no matter what

Even if the strain is advertised as a purple strain, buds don't always turn purple in all cases. For some strains it's 50/50, some strains it's most plants, and some strain only a few turn color. Usually the strain description by the breeder gives you an idea of what to expect, and you can often contact the breeder directly with questions on the best way to get your particular strain to turn purple.

If buds do show colors, sometimes it shows from the beginning, especially if it's the pistils themselves that are supposed to turn color (as opposed to the trichomes, calyxes or leaves). For many purple strains, the color doesn't show up until the last few weeks before harvest. For some strains they need to experience cooler night temperatures to show colors. However, if you do plan to lower temps at night on purpose, you may want to wait to the last few weeks if possible. Cool night temperatures can turn your leaves purple too early, and if that happens those leaves won't be as efficient at photosynthesis during the most crucial parts of the flowering stage. You want to try to keep the leaves themselves green until close to harvest if possible :)
