Ive done the pop can bowl too when I was younger... graduated to steel pipe, now I vape, hit the glass bowl, or smoke a J when there's company.
 
Always add a few drops a real lemon juice from a lemon in your bongwater, apparently the acidity helps keeping the crap from sticking to the glass
 
Do you know what a 'shotgun hit' is? That's where one person put a joint in their mouth fire end first, closes their lips around it (sounds kinda dirty, but it's not) ,and blows (I warned you) a stream of dense smoke into the waiting nostrils of the other party. Makes the smoke very smooth! Just be careful of the ashes!

Nice bong! Is there anything special or different with the red tube, other than a bowl on the end?
 
Wow, I had totally repressed this from memory, but we were not quite sophisticated to use a pop can in the 70s: we'd take the empty toilet paper roll, cut a hote in it, stick some aluminum foil in, put some holes with a pin, and smoke!!! I had not thought of that in eons!!!!
 
Nah nothing special that was just the colour that the stem came as. When I ordered it online the store fucked up and billed me once but sent the same bong twice in two separate parcels. The other has a green stem. Just got a plain and simple bong, I've had a few cool looking ones over the years but the cops decided they'd take them off my hands.
 
DW2...Shotguns. I spent some time in South Korea "72-'73 compliments of Uncle Sam. We had a duty roster (unofficially, of course) as to who had to be first up in the morning to get everybody else up with a shotgun or 6. We had to use pipes because the Army wouldn't let any rolling papers come into the country. If we absolutely had to roll joints we used pages from a Korean Bible one of our connects kept for that purpose. Printed on rice paper, but the ink was harsh so we didn't do that much.. Pot was $10 per kilo, already cleaned, no stems, no seeds. Generally equal to decent Mexican. Opium was $2 an ounce and it was...opium. It came in a Copenhagen can, gummy as gear lube. We consumed mass quantities. Haven't had a shotgun in many years. I have seen people's heads explode from a good shotgun. Thanks for the memory DW2.
 
Ingwe...that is the greatest joint I've ever seen. Next time you roll one up why don't you make us a video of the rolling and then the smoking?
