How close to harvest are they?

The flowers on mine are all pretty small part of the reason I'm trying to figure out if I did something wrong or if they are not as close as I think they are.

Why add molasses? Is this for nutrient value? or does it alter the taste? I have some sugar cane syrup - that's the same thing, I believe. I may give it a try.

You're right. That happened. Dont need to get angry, we're a bunch of stoners and get distracted easily. First of all how long in flower are they? Second. Flushing a DWC takes 3 days. A week at most. I know it has 2 weeks on the schedule but i disagree with that since its hydro and plants drink faster in hydro, which is why they grow faster (not technical but im tired). Thats also why plants show nutrient deficiencies faster in hydro than soil. Third. The top buds look fine but the lower ones are smaller maybe because you need to defoliate to get more light to your buds. I see many king size leaves that are blocking the light. Fourth: what strain is it? Sativas take longer to flower and some can take 14 weeks of flowering. What does the breeder say flowering time is?

To answer your question; Yes, i always repeat week 8 because i usually dont flush until i see amber and then flush for 3 days to a week depending on how much amber there is. I like 20% amber on mine.

On the 10th of this month when I did the first post they were 7 weeks into flower indica strain. So now 8 weeks. Breeder says 8 weeks of flower. It's hard for me to tell when because this is my first time flowering and my sub microscope won't work.

If they were mine without a scope i'd give it extra week look real good a the spaces between the buds do they look like the hairs are mostly orange? Do buds feel kinda solid? They sure are pretty Formernuke, lets see them again kinda close pics if you can of whole plant. It's going to be up to you, if they aren't drinking leaves are yellowing it's a crap shoot without a scope but we use to do it this way back in the day.

Typically i find that breeder times are misleading. Generally i let it go a week or two longer than the "flower time" the breeder indicates. If i didnt have my jewelers loupe, i would make sure the overall "look" of the trichomes looks more like plastic than glass. The first pic i provided looks more like glass imo and the second looks more like white plastic and the first one is not ready while the second is in the beginning of the harvest window but personally i would let it go a little longer. One thing i learned from my first grows is that when i think it's done, it's probably not. I also learned that they usually pack on the weight and girth in the last couple weeks, so when i harvested too early i was in effect lowering my yield and quality.

Im sorry we got sidetracked and didnt answer your question in the beginning, but it was not intentional. I think you bud looks great but like SoOrbudgal says, i'd give it an extra week to be safe.

I don't know kinda blurry pinkish photos best you keep checking in a week sure wouldn't do any harm, and get a loupe or a magnifier of some sort it sure helped me knowing the trichs colors, my eyes are going blurry without a magnifier. :doubtful:

8 weeks in to flower you can start to take off the upper fans, let some light down onto buds

I add my 2 cents again and I think , from your picture, another 3 weeks. That’s without looking at trichomes and only that your lack of yellow leaves say the plant is still nitrogen rich. The cycle of the plant is to grow, veg, flower, and make seeds for new plants and expire. In our case, we prevent pollination so no new seeds. I’ll also say that I wait 2-3 weeks longer than I would have done 3 crops earlier. The lessons on trichome observation implies that clear heads turn milky and then start to turn amber...this is not a 2-3day process on any harvest I had made but observations made over a longer term IN MY OPINION. The net result IN MY OPINION is a more powerful product.

IN one harvest, the fans were as yellow as possible and almost dry crispy brown. Microscope showed trichomes about 30-35% amber coverage and not wilted but fully upright and sharp. After investing months into growth, it builds anxieties wanting to harvest and start finishing the buds. I’ll admit it is tempting but I’d hold off. For what that’s worth

2-3 weeks. They are somewhat staggered in maturity. Which is good. There 6 total, 2 coco and 4 DWC.
