What kind of soil are you using nutes what's the pH? Having some of that happen myself even on new growth. I can't seem to find out the culprit myself. My first thought were bugs but I've gone over every inch of soil and plant matter combed my tent no bugs. Then I read about nutrient deficiency toxicity and pH problems. Still not sure what's causing it. In first week of flower and haven't figured it out. The rest of the leaves and plants look healthy it's just here and there.

Using Fox Farm Ocean Forest, I believe some of the holes in the leaves are from the nutes. IM using general hydroponics go box kit, should be safe. What PH are you using?
 
That is definitely fungus gnat bites... nothing to worry about, and you won't see them... unless you water your soil and watch them come from under the soil. They only live for about 14 hrs and u won't see the carcussec cuz the decompose back in the soil. Put a flypaper by your stalk and worry no more. Try watering a lil less as well
 
Using ffof myself run off at 6 general hydro nutes drain to waste. I'm going to get sticky traps to see if bugs are an issue which I highly doubt it is. Because I actually combed through the soil before and after watering spent hours looking for bugs. Been feeding pretty heavy so I'm flushing with regular water till my run off comes down a little. I don't know what nutrient would do that. Using the complete general hydro feeding schedule as a reference on how much to use and when. What about acids? Could pH down cause it? Or diamond nectar, humic acid? Just throwing it out there. I never had it happen last grow so I'm still lost.
 
Forgot to say that I used neem oil for a solid week thinking it was bugs so there is another reason I doubt it's gnats. Thinking of doing a Coco blend next grow. But just wondering if there was a chance the ffof had/has bugs wouldn't the store carrying it have problems with all their soil? Just wondering if it's possible that the store would be contaminated with bugs.
 
This really intrigues me because I've found a few more posts on this forum with same leaf symptoms. If not a bug then what? I was hoping to get advice here or an actual cause. Some say bugs some say nutes or pH nothing is for sure. Been doing some research myself but it would be nice to have an expert assessment. Thought maybe since my wife smokes flower in the same room my tent is in that it could be a factor. Also I smoke cigarettes and there is the factor of third hand smoke effects. I saw that article and start thinking fungus. Sorry I'm blowing up the thread but it has me boggled. But I'm still not convinced it pest related.
 
You say your wife has smoked flower in the tent? I've done the same just for shits n giggles but maybe that causes something but Im not sure. I have read FFOF has bug problems but my issue doesn't seem to be bugs cause I think the damage would be much more severe and at a faster rate.
 
Not in the tent but in the same room. I thought the same about it if it were bugs my whole grow would be gone by now. But I'm not sure big expert either. I figured someone has seen this before and could diagnose the leaf damage. There isn't any other signs of damage no unhealthy growth no leaves curling or dying. No webs or waxy look. I still can't say it has to be bugs because there are no other symptoms of pest damage.
 
I had posted on this thinking it was caterpillars. I am also using FFOF. I think mine was being caused by some sort of nute burn. Not sure which one. But I am fairly certain I had nitrogen toxicity going on, dark green leaves feeling “crispy”, had some burnt tips etc. I have been giving just plain water and am not seeing any issues on new growth, been watering to run off and checking run off with a tds meter lots of nutes already in the FFOF and I wasn’t thinking about when I transplanted it gave them more nutes. Anyways it seems to have gotten better, oddly of my six plants I also noticed the holes in my best growing plants, sucking up more water/nutes I presume.
 
My thinking on this is your pH swang and the plant sacrifices a small part of it to fight the attack. I had an almost identical issue last week. The tent it happened in had those missing pieces of leaf and all the gear inside was brand new including tent, light, freshly expanded coco, even the pots we're new. It coincidentally happened on a day I fed straight water and silica (extremely low pH).
 
weird I ph my water every time I water and my run off hasn't been below 6. The well I'm on gives me tap water around 7 so even if I gave it regular water from the tap it wouldn't drop a whole lot. I did the same as Locrian transplanting into the ffof and giving it nutes so I was thinking burn just made weak leaves and the fans blowing on them are making wind tatters.
 
pH swings do happen even with strict pH control. I personally never pH my water, but that's because I've worked on my formula for years and watched the reaction. I actually found I had more problems when I used a pH pen, so after about a week it went into the trash and just started watching the plant. I'm not saying throw yours away at all. If it works for you, the run it.
Again, this was just me thinking, I could and very well may be wrong. It's just the only thing that makes any sense to me.
 
The day I realized what was happening the 6 plants. Ph in 6.4 ph out 6.7-6.9. TDS in 550 tds out 1100-2850 (most were 1900-2300)
