Time to check the pH

it's climbing,I followed the directions on the back of the bottle, I'll keep an eye on the pH, when we get to 7 , we're going to get some fish 🐟

The kid and I turned the aquarium because the woman who had it before we took it did something to the inside of the glass on one side,we turned it around and put the background on the fucked up side

I had a couple of Oscars. They are everything as described. I think the fingerling largemouth bass I dropped into the tank one day was a bigger eater though. Ate most of my tropical fish before I could move it. I kept African Cichlids. What got my attention about them is they are as colorful as saltwater fish but are actually freshwater which makes them easier to keep, and they are mouth brooders, and they don't mind a crowded tank. It's quite fascinating to watch them care for their fry.

Lol, I just found it on Google,I believe it is white algae,it doesn't hurt fish, but it's ugly to look at, some algae eating fish will help, the aquatic shop open soon, I'm going to go see what he has

Those plants look plastic, is that correct? Are there any living things in there yet? It might be a biomass imbalance.

If you know someone with a healthy tank transfer some water to your tank to inoculate it with microbes. If you put a pleko in there, you have already done that tho. Water looks a little hazy still. A diatomaceous earth filter for a couple of days does wonders to make the water crystal clear. Starting up a tank can have issues like this. kind of like gut flora. It needs to be healthy for things to run well.

Exactly,I removed everything but the substrate and the pleco , waiting for the water to clear up, going to do a good cleaning on the decor

it's probably not a big deal but it bugs me like a mother

I bet your first grow wasn't perfect. Roll with it and learn. You'll get it back on track. For cleaning up the plastic n stuff, I used to soak and brush them in concentrated salt solution. Then rinse well with water. I also did this to the empty tank and then everything that went in the tank when setting up. The salt kills microbes with out leaving anything toxic so long as it is well rinsed.
