Did you dig into that bud? Look deeply into the plant can you pull the leaf off easy? Did it get wet for long periods? Could be bud rot,mold or bugs. Have fun growing it's the worm season, mold and bud rot time of year. Oh and for further questions try giving more info about how it's been growing what's it in? Looks like it was in flower at one time an revegged.
