Help with autos and cfls

Can you grow autos just under cfls like GWE says for 3 or 4 weeks and then put them in tent or do they need to start off in tent. Kinda confused, but I think I stay confused. THANKS for any help. Hal

Autos don't like to be transplanted, but moving them to more light is rarely a bad thing.

Hi Hal, welcome. The beauty of autos is that when they flower isn't affected by the number of light/dark hours they get a day. Many people use a tent to ensure their photoperiod plants gets a solid 12 hour dark night so they flower. With an auto you don't need any complete dark so you don't technically need a tent. There are people growing auto's on window sills on this forum

Inside/outside of the tent does not matter as long as you can give them good light, control the temp and humidity. The tent makes it easier to control the environment and the smell. Confused is not always bad

Thanks Brit an BuddMarsh. So it's ok to germ in RRs, then put rooters in 3 an a half gallon grow pots an then put grow pots in 5gallon bucket keeping the lights on them all the time except 4 or 5 hours sleep.I hardly have any room,and I know it won't produce much, but any is better than none.Thanks again for the great info, and for this site...PEACE ON EARTH

You should place your RR in to your 5 gal pot and skip the 3.5 gal step. Like Flockshot said auots do not like to be transplanted.

Thanks BuddMarsh, I wasn't gonna transplant it, I was gonna put the 3 and a half gallon grow pot on a little platform inside a Mylar lined 5 gallon bucket. Thanks Peace
