It means you feed your plants with nutrients - wait until the next feeding - then nutrients - wait for the next feeding - then plain water (or flush if you have it). Not necessarily every week. Just when they need it.
I use General Hydroponics Flora Trio for nutrients and flush with Killer Tea (bat and bird guano,earthworm casings).
And ALWAYS check your Ph balance.
