HELP - Building a tiny grow box

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on making a tiny grow box around 1 foot x 1 foot x 3 foot.

Do you think I could limit the growth of pure power plant to under 2 feet if I flower (12/12 light) from seed? I'm thinking if I get one big Cola and lollipop it then I will be ok with the limited yield. I'm just worried that it might outgrow the space.

I am not keen on growing any other strain. I think this strain is good for my medical needs and it is a low odour strain so thats good too.

Do you think topping and Scrog or LST is a good idea in such a small area?

Also has anyone used a small ioniser to negatively charge the air and reduce smell? I would love to know how that worked out.

You could definitely keep it under 2'. If you do 12/12 from seed it probably won't even need lst. You must not be a heavy smoker if it's worth your time and effort to spend 3 months growing a plant for a few joints. You could do some pretty extensive training and up the yields but you'll need to spend some time vegging.
 
I also agree with Jordann that I would veg and train first before switching to 12/12. I think it will be good to consider the widest pot size possible but not necessarily fill it all the way up with grow medium.

1. So I'm designing the cabinet on google sketchup and turns out I forgot to account for 6 inches between my light and plant. (I'm an idiot! *sigh*)

3. This leaves like 1 foot 5 inches of pure plant grow space. (Accounting for 6 inches of soil and 6 inches for the grow light)

4. I will use a 10" x 6" inch pot

5. Will topping early make my plant shorter? do I need to top once or twice?

6. Do you think its still viable to grow a plant of pure powerplant? I smoke rarely so this will be enough for me. How many grams do you guys think I will get from this?

7. Really appreciate you guys for helping me design this I wish you could see the plan Its super stealth!

Thats a great idea - I'm thinking 10 inches wide by 6 inches tall?

Maybe even 5 inches tall if you guys think thats ok?
 
I am curious to know about if the light pulls 40w from the wall or if they just value it at 40w. It is possible that the light is actually pulling under 10w from the wall which would not be enough so it is worth checking out. Also there are a lot of techniques in the Solo Cup Grow Off that will be helpful to you if you take some time to check the thread out.
 
Thanks - I've designed a "False Ceiling" so there will be a small space above the grow light and the final ceiling where I will have all the electrical stuff and the ioniser + Carbon Filter.

Do you think that is over kill? Does the ioniser remove smell though?
 
Yeah I was just looking at that and wondering if any of them are Sativas like Pure Power Plant?! Crazy stuff over there its super impressive!!!

I'm not sure how to check really, it says "Actual Power" and sellers on amazon keep trying to rip everyone off :(
 
The ionizer changes the charge of the particles suspended in the air. Those charged particles will drop to the floor. You must vacuum up those particles in order to get rid of the smell.
Your carbon filter will work well by itself until the carbon becomes too full. If you change it out like once per year you will never reach that saturation point.
 
Ok awesome - pure power plant is a low odour strain anyway so the carbon filter should be enough then.

Any advice on my height problem?? (with reference to post #5)

I have never grown with such height restrictions. Sorry. What I can tell you is LED requires more distance between light source and plant canopy than cfl does. You can bring a cfl a few inches away from the plant and never burn her. Good luck!!
 
Just a quick thought, a fluorescent tube fixture mounted to the ceiling and using blocks under the pot to bring it closer might be the ticket. Then as it grows you just lower the pot (in conjunction with lst) to keep the plant in the sweet spot.
