Help !bud wash recipe please

Help! I need your bud wash recipe PLEASE! I e read lemon juice and baking soda or diluted peroxide. Contradicting arguments for and against both. Long story short, i had to move a plant outside because of space( lesson learned) and after inspection i missed some thrips or possible spider mites. Cue Capt jacks dead bug. One of my plants is ready to harvest ( thought she had another week) but im harvesting for a heady high and my trichomes are already turning amber so i need to give her 24 hrs of darkness asap so i can harvest. I need proven wash recipe from trusted sources, so I’m here. Also (not cold) tap water ok for the first two buckets and distilled for the final rinse ok?
 
Sounds like you are on the right track,be sure to use warm water, and be gentle, you want to avoid knocking off your trichomes

I recently used this recipe in this experiment.
My suggestion without empirical data is cool water. Warm water will soften up trichomes and make them stickier. Ice water will knock them off like ice water hash.

Here is what I used for outdoor plants. There washes luke warm water for all. 1.water, lemon juice, baking soda. Idk amounts, just toss some in, don't go overboard. 2. plain water. 3. water and H2O2, again just toss some in. Take the stalk, swish in the first bath, let soak for 1 minute, swish, then rinse well in second bath, then swish and soak in peroxide same as first. Moderate agitation. After the last rinse hang to drip dry then put on racks to dry as normal. Try not to bang the buds against the side of the container. Peroxide breaks down to O2 and water so no contamination issue there. You will be amazed at the gunk that comes off in the first solution.

MIghty from NPK will kill the mites and the larva and you can smoke it without washing, I didnt notice any taste difference when I did that. To me bud washing seems like a great way to jump start mold

The peroxide is supposed to knock down mold spores, just make sure it goes directly to drying room.
 
Allenpro mold was a consideration when I did my wash.
I put a couple fans on the hang to get rid of the solution and removed them when the hangers were dry. It probably added a whole extra two hours of drying time.
 
I’m definitely not letting my plants outside ever again but ty that product is going in my grow journal just incase, sad i never ran across it when i was looking. Washing , when done with care can remove dust, and hair too. I’m going to make sure there is no chance for mold. Peroxide is a good solution mix for powder mold and ive read lemon juice and baking soda is good for the anything else as mentioned above. When washed with care most outside growers swear by it

Maybe I got side tracked,sorry, are you trying to wash off the bugs or dust or mold? If it were me, because I have been there, I would not bring the plants whole or deboned for drying into the house or growing area unless I knew the bugs and their larva were dead.
As for any health concerns, I am going to bet most of us have smoked our weight in Thirps before we started growing

Hey allenpro, i thought i could grow 4 autos in a 4x2x4 tent, i was wrong and to save space i took two outside ( for only two weeks) once i had my larger tent bought and set up i moved them back in. I put the larger one in my old tent by itself as that was the only one i found a dozen bugs on. I did inspected them but missed thrips and or spider mites. After daily work finding, killing and removing fan leaves i thought i had them all gone but when i found one on the second plant that was housed with the other three i realized i needed some help before i had damage to all my hard work and $. I’m washing to remove capt jacks dead bug.
 
Also i am never letting my babies outside again, lesson learned. Omg you are probably right about us all smoking thrips 🤣🤣🤣
 
Hi, AMP.
I grow outside in a greenhouse and always wash my buds at harvest, using similar procedures to those mentioned by the others responding to your inquiry. I use tap water, no fancy distilled or RSO water which works fine. I hang washed buds in the greenhouse with a fan drying them off a couple hours. Then, it is off to the drying room (55°F, 50% RH) until final trim. I also do a pre-wash wet trim removing the big sun leaves, leaving the sugar leaf trim for the final, pre-cure pass.
Anecdotally, I do not notice any significant, if any, difference to the final bud quality, except maybe cleaner flower.

That is a chilly drying room does the low temp and RH slow down the drying process? I have always heard 70° and 70 RH for 7-10 days but that is very likely Bro science
Why do you wash the buds? Bugs or .....?
Do you control the RH in the greenhouse or does having them in the greenhouse keep the bud rot at bay
 
Please HELP GUYS !! My first harvest and dry was in the winter, I’m having a really hard time keeping my temp below 75 without my ac running (i have a dryer vent clipped to a section of my ac and blowing cool air from the bottom left and an oscillating clip fan on the bottom right moving air but not hitting the buds. I’m using my only free tent which is a small 2x2x4. I have a very small reg box fan on the outside roof, blowing air out from the tent but this seems to make it worse when the ac is off. I want to dry then low and slow but 75 temp and 60-65 RH when ac is off seems high. I really don’t want to run my ac 24/7 for 7-10 days but I’m also worried about fluctuating temps and RH’s any advice or tales of experience would be greatly appreciated
