Help a noob out, please.

This is one of two germinated seeds from my first effort ever. The other seedling is growing beautifully under CFL's. I have thrown this one away for fear of rot spreading but was hoping I could get comments on what you think may have caused the browning of the stem. All references I can find to "browning" online only talk about the leaves, not the stems. Growth essentially halted on this seedling around day 5 while her sister was twice the size and without the brown stem. Temps have stayed around 78 and humidity around 45. Any insight is much appreciated!

Ok your medium looks muddy and soggy so too much watering ad also what cfl in lux per bulb and what distance from seedling? Are the cfl full spectrum? Also what medium is it that you are using?

Nothing wrong with it. Let it grow.

Or are you talking about having two plants growing so close together in one pot? One on the right being taller than the one on the left?
Two in one pot is not good.
