Hello and H20 Question

Hello folks,

First post! Yay!

Anyhow,

I am currently in the process of setting up my own home setup. I have a question around water. My water (Municipal Aquafer, treated) is extremely hard super and overall not good for things. We are on our 3rd hot water tank in 10 years. We have a Water Softening System that is doing whole home. We also have an RO system for drinking water and ice machines. Which one is the better option? There is also the option of non-softened or RO. I will add that I am doing "Bubbleponics" DWC.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to sharing my diary soon!

Best suggestion I can offer would be to have your tap water analyzed.
It helps to know what's in it-some things can be beneficial.
The ro system would be the one to use.
Water softeners use sodium and that can induce problems.

I was going to go RO, just wanted to make sure :) Thank you!

RO is the best option, but you will need to add regular water to it. RO is stripped of all nutrients that the plants need.

Glad to see another YYCr around here 😁 Welcome to GWE.
