Heat and flowering

I was wondering....Nebula has mentioned that the temp during flowering shouldn't go above 80 since the terpenes and cannabinoids may be evaporated off. I'm thinking of my summer planting. The flowering of my autos will probably be in August, and there may be many days in the 80's and 90's. Plus outside I would be putting the grows in full sun which can be baking hot. I can't see how this is avoided in a normal summer climate. Are outdoor plants different when it comes to holding on to their precious cargo? Thanks in advance! 🌻

One thing you can do is move your plants out of the sun when it gets that hot, or give them some shade.

But honestly I'm not sure if hot temperatures affects the taste of outdoor buds. Hopefully an outdoor grower will chime in. Indoors if it's hot it's usually hot from 12/12 to harvest. I think if it's just a few days it's probably not a big deal indoors or outdoors.

Thanks Nebula! I'm hoping that over 80 temps don' matter so much on outdoor plants, and maybe the additional benefits of real sunshine outweighs any loss that may occur. I could delay my plantings so flowering happens more towards September but I'm also concerned about the cold,wet, and low sun conditions that can occur then. I suppose that weather can be an issue any summer month! That fact makes my indoor grows so much fun...where I have more control. Thanks again...you are the best!! 🌻

Definitely better to harvest early than late in the fall! By the end of September and the beginning of October the sunlight you're getting is much weaker! If you can harvest by September you usually don't have to worry about mold and your plants get better/stronger sunlight during those last few crucial weeks of bud fattening

Definitely want to avoid the mold! Last summer we had a cool and damp stretch in July, and close to harvest I started to see some rot . Fortunately I was able to harvest and remove a few bad spots. Fat and potent buds rule! 😊
