Hash talk

See now that 15-20 minutes by hand sells the washer, my back would not be happy.
Even with a drill and paddle.
 
I have several gallon bags that I ground a bit and ran across the trim bin, I can see how it would be a bit more trashy than whole buds.
Static, if I could automate that it sounds interesting
 
The Moroccan hash we used to get here was soft and easy to work with, but the US military was bringing it in they have lots of space.
 
I bought the hash in Marrakech. I hope it wasn't up my dealers butt. He was a nasty looking dude.
 
To make the THC available when ingested, delta 9 when decarbed and eaten turns into delta 11 in the liver, lasts longer in the system, also takes about 2 hours to be fully affective.
 
Green butter (100⁰C) then fully decarbed in the baking process (180⁰C) is available about 30 minutes to one hour after injection. Timing depends on so many human biological factors, bit like ingesting alcohol, timing varies for effect and strength.
 
I use trim and popcorn buds, like anything that is too small to trim comfortably,I keep it in a paper bag and let it dry out completely,then it goes in the freezer, also, when I start to get going,I fill the bucket about half way and add a half bag of ice and let it sit for a bit to get good and cold, you want your material to be as dry as you can get it and you want your water to be as cold as you can possibly get it, work the material slowly with the drill and paddle, also, work the material a few times and your going to get a nice puck when you're done
 
My first time making hash,we used 11 ozs of trim and popcorn buds and I got a puck that was 1.3 ozs when we were done, we worked that batch twice
 
I'm going to fridge my material before each run. Do you add ice at each filter point..eg, after you pull a bag you add new ice to the bucket? Obviously the cold water will stay in the bucket after removing the 220 micron bag but the ice leaves with the shit you'll throw away.
 
Umm... no. I think.
Ice goes with plant material, not sift. Every time you agitate the plant material, you need ice. You do not use ice when you are pouring off buckets into smaller screens.
Just keep the water nice and cold. Did you ever put water bottles in the freezer just until they started forming ice on the sides? That's nice and cold. Refreshing, too!​
Interesting idea about refrigerated weed versus frozen weed.
What I said about not freezing weed because someone mentioned something and I saw a video. Those are the people who are famous for the purity of their hash and kief. The hash and kief you see pictures of. Figure freezing is popular enough that I might be the only person suggesting freezing is not the best way to go.

I can see freezing would make it more brittle I guess. The first bag should catch 99% of that but. It probably doesn't make a lot of difference because as soon as you add really cold water it's going to unfreeze anyway.

So ice only on the first mix then pour into second bucket with all the bags, or just one bag and lift then into another bucket with next smallest bag and so on.

Scrape off wet trichomes of the bag, let dry and sift through screen.

I guess that sums it up.
 
I'm not an expert at all, I'm just trying to share my observations from what I know so far
 
One at a time is easier to work with.
Wash with ice and water in the 220 bag. Remove and squeeze the bag and set it aside for a second wash.
Pour the juice in the next smaller bag. Wash and scrape the smaller bag. Repeat pouring the juice in the next smaller bag. The bags are in the buckets, obviously.

ice water hash thats properly made is absolutely the best full spectrum product you can get. I think you should find some of my previous posts about my process if you look back.

It is defiantly some work but I think it’s worth it, and no nasty solvents.
Please don’t grind or shred the biomass before, this does break up the resin heads which means they won’t separate properly. Also true for dry sift.
Freezing is fine but don’t break it up. Fresh frozen is the best. The warm pressing and decarb is a key part of making it into what it can be.
Once it’s dried properly and pressed, wrap it in natural cellophane and stored in a good spot it will last for many years. As it ages good things happen as the compounds continue to change.
I’d like a fancy set of bags , but I’ve just used the full mesh(thats important) bubblebag dude 8 bag set. I also bought the washer and it does make it a bit easier but it’s totally fine to do it by hand the secret is to be gentle as you don’t want to break up the biomass just separate the resin heads.

I settled on using 160 then 45 as my main collection bag after trying many combinations. Less bags is easier but lots of people use something before the 160 and after 45 as you could get something decent from 160 and say a 25 but I never do so I’ve stopped, as it’s just slower and more cleaning.
Plenty think the 73 is the magic number and it’s good but I prefer the full spectrum (and more yield) of the 160-45.
